Killzone: Shadow Fall SP will be 30 FPS while MP is 60 FPS

From the Lead Designer at Guerrilla Games comes the new information that Killzone: Shadow Fall‘s single-player campaign will run at 30 FPS while the multi-player part of the game will run at 60 FPS. This does make sense having different graphical fidelity for different modes but it is still a slight disappointment. (Killzone: Shadow Fall, PS4)

I really cant wIt for this game, i love me some Killzone and this one seems to be shaping up to be the best in the series. Its going to catch people off-guard how good this game will be in terms of a next gen fps.

GG has insured that KZ MP will live on for a long time to come. Yes I'm so happy! :D

How is this a dissapointment? A stable and smooth 30fps in single player with all these beautiful visuals and great effects is something to look forward to.

Because its new hardware, pretty sad imo.
Looks good I agree but shud of been able to hit 60fps, mid-eol games are the ones that shud be running at 30fps when they are pushing every last drip of performance!

With new hardware comes limitations. You have to bear in mind launch games on a new system is tough which is why this type of thing is expected. Two years down the line things should change as developers have gotten a grasp of the new systems

Check the video below and you tell me if the MP visuals don't look mind blowing.

I'm just glad my eyesight isn't good enough to see a massive difference. Maybe I'm getting old, :)

All these arguments about 1080p@60fps are just boring. I get 1080p@60fps in every PC game I play - and it makes no difference to me when I jump to PS3 and see games at 720p@30fps... A fun game is a fun game.

Movement isn't as smooth but it's not overly noticeable, go below 30fps and you will notice., you should try 1080p @120hz on pc!

I'm surprised that MP is going to be 60fps, I thought the whole game would be 30fps (which I was completely fine with). Definitely good news indeed though, especially considering how gorgeous the MP looks from a visual standpoint (it looks hells fun too no doubt).

Idc about the fps as long as the game is fun. Ok fine as long as they don't dip under 30 AND it's fun.

Hey as long as the multi is 60FPS im good.Hopefully next KZ game both sections will be 60 FPS.Cant wait for.this :D.

It will be a little odd at first. Beating single player then jumping online with double the framerate.

Wow that's awesome. Personally I'm more of a single player type of guy but 60fps is great for those who play mostly multiplayer. GG are truelly talented. All this while maintaining incredible graphics. Why do people play COD again? Oh yeah that's right cause their uninformed.

I'm going to assume that it's only different frames because of bigger areas.

What little disapoiment are they talking about? i cannot be more hyped for this game since i saw it in movement at 30FPS witll all the details, effects and image quality, heck my day one edition already preorder with shadow fall bundle, the 60 FPS MP is just a plus, the cherry to put on the top LOL

I really don't mind that the graphics will be pared back a bit so they can hit 60 fps in multiplayer. GG are just getting the PS4 under their belt we can bet that there will be some beautiful stuff to come when they figure out how to utilize all of its strengths, namely GPGPU strengths.

makes sense. reduce framerate in SP, so as to increase graphical fidelity to make it more cinematic.

I can totally live with that for next gen, ONLY if the 30fps is 100% locked.
