The PS Vita had a decent sized presence at Sony's Gamescom press conference. From Borderlands to BigFest, Zack at Gamer Thoughts shares his feelings on the situation.
Borderlands 2 and Minecraft plus a price drop...I might have to buy one.
Minecraft on Vita sounds like an awesome combo !
And F2P BigFest...I´m actually looking forward to that title.
That game actually does look cool, not gonna lie. As a big music fan, I'm always on the hunt for new bands.
I was tempted to get Borderlands 2 for $20 today at GS. I'd rather play it on Vita though, as a game like that would be special on handheld.
More of the same for Vita. Vita is continuing it's good support. I would love to have more original Vita only games, but I understand porting is way easier and still builds a nice library of titles. We will just have to rely on Sony first party for original Vita only games.
Agree. Games that can be only be played on Vita will be the real changer. Nevertheless I'm a very happy Vita owner (the white one, it's an awesome color!)
Well, there are ports that I prefer to play on Vita, like Rayman and Lego games. I've been waiting a Vita release of The Walking Dead since it came out for PS3.
It's great seeing the Vita getting more support (indies especially) and a cheaper price. However, why add Borderlands 2? I mean, I love the game, don't get me wrong, but it's a port of a game from last year, one that many people already own on PC, 360 or PS3. Unless they add a huge amount of new Vita-exclusive content, I can't see Borderlands 2 taking off with this verison. The Vita needs original software to really build its identity. It's a great system with a ton of hardware strengths, so I'd personally be more satisfied with some crazy fun original games that define the Vita instead of a port of a game I already own.
Vita have it's own identity and it's not called Mario or Pokemon. Vita will *never* have such big hit because it have a different approach and I'm fine, I enjoy the deeply variety of games on Vita. This is the identity of Vita.
oh its a perfect fit :p the 4 player co-op can work on the vita, and people want a vita fps, plus the shell shading style will really pop on the vita screen. so to me the fps/rpg/4 player co-op is something unique that if brought to the vita can work tremendously well! :)
From my time with the PC version of the first game, I realized that Borderlands is not a hardware demanding game at all. My netbook ran it fairly well. That said, the vita should be able to run the second one without any real compromises. I have yet to play Borderlands 2, and this will be the perfect opportunity to pick it up. My wish is that it'll come bundled with the existing DLC at no extra charge. 100% day one purchase for me.
@stevehyphen: Yeah, well that's because it's cel-shaded.. which I for one wish more games would do since it is so much less demanding and can run so smooth.. Also; I'm super hyped for Vita, especially Killzone Mercenary, loving the beta... kinda not liking the constant air raids, though...lol
@PostMesmeric Despite owning a PS3, I actually never owned any of the Borderlands...but being added for the Vita, I just might buy a copy.
Id rather play Borderlands 2 on my Vita any day over a bunch of indie games I can play on my cellphone. Indie games aren't why I bought a Vita. Console type games like Borderlands, Killzone & Soul Sacrifice ARE why I bought a Vita.
I bought it for JRPGs. I could live without games like killzone (although I want it), InFamous, Bioshock (2 games everyone wants), etc. give me a JRPG and I can l play hundreds of hours. Ys, Final Fantasy, Monster Hunter, Persona, Toukiden, God Eater, etc? Yeah I can last a while with those games
Sorry the link to this story is down right now, i'm working on getting it back up asap,
Nintendo cracks down on pirates on SD cards because they use default cheap and easy SD cards at no expense to the consumer People go nuts about how bad a company nintendo is for trying to stop it. Sony charges the CONSUMERS for it's own anti piracy attempt and people defend it.
Who says we defend it? I think the prices on the memory cards are goddamn expensive.
I've never defended the vita memory card pricing. It's one of my consistent complaints on owning a vita. But I've learned to live with it with just buying physical copies of the games instead of downloading them. The only things I need my memory card the most is for my favorite psp games.
I was pleased.
Alright it is back up, it is on a subdomain right now due to some issues with hosting, I will change it back to its regular domain asap.
TGS is soon and I hope we see some JRPG games.
i was lucky enough to get a "free" memory card when i picked up the vita... now it's time to upgrade that one significantly so i can put even more of these games on it
Get the 32 gig. I bought an 8 gig to upgrade from the 4 gig I had bundled and it's still not enough. The 32 is the one to get.
yeah that's what i was looking at alright ha
Sony needs to do something about the damn prices for memory cards. The prices are ridculouse! Equvilent to how ms did the hdd on the 360
This is a very good start especially the price drop and with TGS around the corner, I'm expecting more games to come especially JRPGS the system is very compatible with this genre of games and the icing on the cake the ps4 remote play. Lets Play Games!!! :)
