You can turn off character outlines in Smash Bros for 3DS

Not a fan of the thick black character outlines in the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros? Good news! Nintendo has revealed that you can remove this altogether. (3DS, Super Smash Bros.)

I love them and how they make each character look very striking. I'll probably keep the outlines on. It's a visual touch that will make it easier to see characters when the screen zooms out.

Eh, it looks kind of weird to me. I'll probably turn it off.

It all depends on how it affects the gameplay with the 3d effects.

you won't need em once you get used to it.

Like Kid Icarus Uprising stand.

...then why have them at all? OR... why not have them in the Wii U version as well?

Since they're cell shaded and on a much smaller screen, they're worried the characters might blend in with the background so the outlines are there to make the characters pop out and easier to see and keep track of.

Making it optional allows people who don't like or need to not have it. I don't think the wiiu version will have this problem so it doesn't have it.
