Everybody's Gone to the Rapture Set to be Casual, But Immersive

Dealspwn reports: "Fancy something mildly disturbing? Ever wondered what it would be like if Lost and Silent Hill collided? Then you'll be wanting to take a look at The Chinese Room's new game coming exclusively to PS4, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. The 'post-event' vibe in the trailer feels like there's some sort of menace just around the corner. What is 'the loop' that somebody was trying to close on the computer? These are questions raised by the brief trailer and we're sure you want to know more too." (Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, PS4)

It's made by the people who made Dear Esther, so expect an extremely pretentious experience.

"expect an extremely pretentious experience."

Now, if you had said that with regards to Irrational, I'd have agreed. thechineseroom on the other hand are actually really well read guys (well Dan Pinchbeck in particular) and are academics. Probably on par with Jonathan Blow in terms of their intellect. In other words, they actually know what they're doing.

Nonsense. I doubt you have ever played Dear Esther if that is your view of it.

Journey was the same and look how that turned out. This and Rime look remarkable and are continuing the trend of Sony bringing these emotional narrative experience to consoles.
