IGN - Ryan and Destin talk about Microsoft's press event at Gamescom and discuss their impressions about games like Killer Instinct, Fable and Kinect Sports.
Ryse son of rome :-)
Ryse looks like a quality game just no appealing to me the gameplay looks kinda blase to me but this is before I actually play it. I'm sure it's a cool game but nothing I haven't seen before with next gen visuals. glad the kinect finally got good coverage. It's gotten too much flak considering its a camera and a motion control peripheral As mostly a PS gamer I think it's of great tech and practical just not a selling point. Over all everything looks cool def wanna get my hands on some of the stuff this con didn't help waver me to get an X1 or steer me away though. All you Xgamers out there have faith in your platform of choice. I been with PS through thick and thin and still had a good time X1's strong points are still yet to come after a lil bit more damage control and the launch. The competition is stiff MS DONT SLIP UP SONY IS WAITING.
You have to admit, Microsoft has the games to back the system up out of the gate. Question is, will they pull a 360 and slow support down the road? I really hope not. I always remember what the original Xbox was and hope that they go back to their roots and remember they started purely for gaming, and they were good at it. Don't get me wrong, I am already aware they are pushing things other than games. I am just hoping to see a major emphasis placed on games as well.
Hope so, If MS understand that the little support for the 360 was one the main causes for the recovery of the PS3, yes, they will keep going with games. What I most want to see are the games produced in-house. The trailer from Fable looks great, Halo probably will too, and the Black Tusk game..., really curious about this studio.
same here, they had some amazing games at one stage. Thats why i sold my 360 for a ps3 few years ago because it just was loosing its appeal that it had when i bought it. Hopefully they have a clear vision with its games, they have some decent studios
Original Xbox. Really takes me back. Good times.
A+++ for me. Now with 22 games on release day, Lots of choices for gamers comes November. IMO, up there with Dramcast as the best launch lineup in history. I just raised my 5 Day one purchase to 9 now. Fable Legends and The Fifa announcement were great surprises..And I especially like how Kinect Sports Rival turns out. Return of waverace!!! That water physic is killer! The scanning to create your own avatar and the motion capture of Project Spark provide a look of one of the benefit of Kinect included in every Sku. I think it was a good presentation. Battlefield 4 (DICE, Electronic Arts) Crimson Dragon (Grounding/Land Ho!, Microsoft Studios) Dead Rising 3 (Capcom Vancouver, Microsoft) Forza Motorsport 5 (Turn 10 Studios, Microsoft Studios) Killer Instinct (Double Helix, Microsoft Studios) NBA 2K14 (Visual Concepts, 2K Sports) Ryse: Son of Rome (Crytek, Microsoft Studios) Watch Dogs (Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft) Zoo Tycoon (Frontier Developments Ltd., Microsoft Studios)
In my opinion the only game that interests me in the least from this showing is Dead Rising 3.
Ms seems to have turned everything around in just 3 months
You are kidding right? But then again I suppose it cant hurt being a half glass full kind of person. Let me just ask you this, why did MS have to turn every thing around? Because the consumers thought there was something wrong (and we all know what that was), now if MS turned around on what they believed to be right, dont you think there is still something wrong? all this shows me is that MS has no trust in their own system.
I would rather they listen to feedback and change everything to what we want rather than continue down a path not that many people were interested in. The console now looks great and the games are fantastic.
dude the general impression about the xbox one is changing so quickly you cant deny that and even gamescom added more positive light to the console.ms is doing good.they have changed policies to make it better, they have good games and services.they may have initially started out badly but they have quickly come around. whats there to still hate about the console?
I can't understand how the dedicated servers for CoD and free FIFA14 aren't getting more heat. This in my opinion is a really big deal. It's like N4G has buried this good news. Did Sony say if CoD has the same on PS4? Just asking.
Yeah its quite a big deal but I'm sure the PS4 will have dedicated server support too.
Yes I agree I just thought it would have been mentioned by Sony if they had it. MS have the better server infrastructure with their Azure system so I wonder of they have done a deal with Acti for access. To the hardcore shooter crowd dedicated vs p2p is a boon and would make a difference to some purchasing decisions. It's what made my many years of counterstrike so great. Right now Septic I can't see myself away from Forza 5, BF4 and Ryse with possibly CoD chucked in for good measure. That lot would keep me happy right through to Easter! I think MS have a really strong XB1 lineup and I'm now all but sold on one. And that's before I get my hands on GTAV and GT6. Great time (and expensive) to be a gamer.
It matters not whether is has dedicated servers or not, why ? I'm not supporting shitty ass developers anymore, simple as that. They won't be receiving my money this year.
Whilst I respect your opinion even though I disagree I think the subject of dedicated servers does matter a great deal to many gamers and could be a usp for Microsoft if exclusive. Even if not it should improve the game experience considerably. And to call the developer shitty is somewhat irrational given that despite the criticism of repeatedly similar games CoD is quite frankly the highest grossing and biggest selling franchise in the history of our hobby like it or not. I don't think they will miss your money.
I don't care if they miss my money or not. That's not the point, they are shitty developers, because if they were to have dedicated servers on the Xbox One and NOT the PS4, that pretty much says a lot about them as not only a company but as developers themselves. There's nothing irrational about my statement. I call things how I see it. And they treat their consumers like crap, so that already tells me to stop supporting developers who pull stunts like this. It seems a lot of people are at a COD fatigue anyway, the Preorder numbers have declined by a lot, and it's nowhere near the amount they was for the previous COD, that alone says people are a bit tired of Activison policies. I don't mind the paid DLC, and I don't mind whatever antics they wanna pull, but dedicated servers for one console and not announced for the other one ? Foolishness.
Wow. Ryse's co-op looks awesome.
Ps3 had loads more server backed games than 360. It didn't matter then?? List is overrated. I guess that's why Xbox sells to some. Games are subjective, like any entertainment. Ruse looks OK but nothing special.
