MWEB GameZone writer, Stephanie Duchenne takes a look at Sony joining the initiative to protect video game developers from disgruntled fans.
I think its a sad state of the mentality of gamers that such an initiative has to be taken up because of the ignorance and stupidity of a few, and I really hope that behaviour like this will become a thing of the past.
Sadly, it seems to be getting worse :|
This reminds me of Del's article on gamer entitlement. There is simply no excuse for threatening devs, no matter how bad the patch is. I am disgusted by the behavior that necessitated this initiative from Sony & IGDA. Gamers should grow the f up
Wholeheartedly agree with the above comments, it's certainly a sad state of affairs when developers feel they need protecting from the very people they basically work for.... Regardless though we are in this sorry state and I for one strongly support this initiative, devs are people too and deserve the right to civilised conversation and CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM rather than threats and rants. If only an initiative to reform gamers temperament existed....
Are there any other industries where these things also happen?
