GameSpy: Sam & Max: Season Two, Episode 5: "What's New, Beelzebub?" Review

GameSpy writes: "One of the most appealing, though subtle, aspects of the new episodic adventures of Sam & Max has been the brilliant satirical jabs the series pokes at modern life in the Western world. While each episode in both seasons has had a self-contained target (Such as the Internet in Episode Five of Season One or Christmas in Episode One of Season Two), they also work together to create an overarching theme that isn't always clear until the last episode.

That seemed to fall by the wayside a bit in Season Two, Episode Four (Chariot of the Dogs) where an otherwise hilarious script seemed content to go without much social commentary. Fortunately, that's not the case in What's New, Beelzebub?, the surreally brilliant Season Two finale that pulls all of this season's thematic threads and plot points together into an eminently satisfying conclusion."

Pros:
-Brilliant script
-Great puzzles
-Great art design
-Good use of recurring characters
-Thematic elements

Cons:
-Confusing for players who haven't played earlier episodes (PC, Sam & Max Episode 205: What's New, Beelzebub?) 4.5/5
