Game Scoop: Analyzing the Next-gen Launch Lineups

IGN:

Launch lineups are typically pretty weak. How are the Xbox One and PS4 day-one games looking?

The story is too old to be commented.

The first comment :

"Coming from a Nintendo fan: Xbox One line-up > PS4 line-up"

I agree. Knack, Drive Club and Killzone... seriously Sony ? I hope you have at least one or two killer ap for gamescom...

I'm pretty sure F2P's alone on PS4 can compete with the launch Xbone line-up.

Planetside 2, DCUO, Blacklight Retribution, Warframe, and War Thunder.

Then let's add in Killzone, the only true shooter exclusive so far, and Knack, only true platformer so far. I'm not even mentioning indies yet.

Driveclub and Forza are the only competitors, let's see how they both turn out tomorrow shall we?

I await you reply when we see the 2 tomorrow. Then again, MS has no real conference at Gamescom which is telling.

To be honest, this article is just IGN stirring up heat.

Come on, we're better than this, let's stop it with the fanboyism, and just focus on games.

Well said, and I agree.

Not to mention Sony is supporting three platforms instead of just one.
The shortage or lack of games for the ps4 is a myth but will be constantly brought up as people can finally use it as an excuse to take a jab at the PS4 for once. lol.
To be honest if I owned just a 360 I'd be pretty damn game thirsty too judging by the game drought it's been experiencing so Microsoft's xb1 line up must look like an Oasis on the horizon in comparison.

Considering how many people proclaim to be "hardcore" gamers here, is nobody hyped for Killer Instinct??

It is looking immense!!!

thelaughingwiseman1792d ago

I don't know man. Everyone are giving indie games way too much credit. There are some good ones, but there are a lot of bad ones. Not every indie is freakin' Journey. And besides the F2P you mentioned are also on PC's. That's where I enjoy Planetside 2, and Warframe.

and to be honest what is Killzone doing that we haven't seen already from other FPS games? The launch line up doesn't look impressive. Knack? really? Infamous looks cool though.

Its just lame that Sony does this two generations in a row. Remember the PS3's launch line up? yeah me neither: Resistance, Heavenly Sword were the only ones i could remember

Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Sony San Diego, Sony London, Sony Japan, Sony Bend, Polyphony, Cambridge, Quantic Dream, and Media Molecule all have not announced a PS4 game yet, and most these studios are developing more than one game at a time.... Don't know about you guys, but launch line up looks great on both systems. But PS4 has a better value with the F2P and PS Plus. Xbox One looks great, but going to take a wait and see approach, and hopefully they release a Kinect Less SKU later down the line. It's going to be a great generation of gaming =)

Killzone Shadow Fall is the only compelling launch title out of the launch bunch for me.

inFAMOUS Second Son is the major exclusive follow-up for Q1.

Better than Xbone , PS3 , 360 for me personally. I can't complain.

thrust1792d ago

When Sony have games I will buy the ps4 looks like next year.

thelaughingwiseman1792d ago

It took Sony about 2 or 3 years to start cranking out games for the PS3. I don't see whats wrong with your statement. It really looks to be the same for the first year at least.

Thomper1792d ago

And these four guys are supposed to be experts??

They didn't even mention Mario 64 as a killer app launch title??
