Game Guys review - DuckTales: Remastered

Arguably one of the best and more difficult platfomers on the NES, the Capcom-published DuckTales was a very popular game for the 8-bit system. Fast forward 24 years and developer WayForward remakes and expands upon the game while staying as true as possible to the original - including in its challenge.

The story is too old to be commented.

When I see a game get 93/100, it better deserve it. This seems to be one of those games, although I haven't played it since I was a kid so I can't recall.

The way I look at scores sometimes is like this:

This game, compared to other 2D platformers, is a 93/100.

Meaning that, while it lacks a ton of features of newer games of this gen that are obviously superior to it in many ways, it also does certain things better on less tech, than games do now with 10X the tech.

For what it is, it probably is a 93/100, for a 2D platformer.

But it's strictly that, and if your not into that, at the time of playing this game, it probably won't feel like a 93/100 game.

Being "into" a certain genre, at a certain time, can make a game feel better to you.

I would love to see them do this with Disney's Aladdin, the Sega Version.

The remastered version is legitimately harder than the original.

It's not a bad thing, but there's some elements of it where I'm like "really?!"
