Which company needs to redeem itself the most next generation, Square Enix, Capcom, or EA?

This generation in particular was unlike any other before it. While we have seen many great games, we've also seen many blatant negative issues come about. Whethere it be exploitation, DLC abuse, fan neglect, or just plain greed, this generation was rife with it. Many companies are guilty. But Square Enix, Capcom, and Electronic Arts are probably the three that are among the top in that regard. So between the three, which one do you feel needs to redeem itself the most? (Capcom, EA, Next-Gen, PS4, Square Enix, Xbox One)

Dare I say it because my favourite games fall under their library, but Square Enix. Unfortunately they are the developers that need the most reform.

3.NAMCO Bandai

What major wrong has Namco done?

Yes, they've failed to bring several games to the west, but that is nothing compared to what S/E and Capcom have done.

@godmars

the last dbz game was pretty crappy compared to the others.

@Godmars

Perhaps that's why they are third on the list, hmm?

I'm going to say overall Square-Enix needs to really redeem themselves the next-gen. While the Tomb Raider reboot was pretty kick-ass, but SE just didn't deliver like they have with previous console cycles.

EA to me they need to really go back to the drawing board with their sports lineup. Same thing can be said about Capcom with Resident Evil. At the same time both EA & Capcom had a lot of great game.

the only decent Square games these gen were the ones made by Eidos, Capcom revived 2D fighting games by itself with SFIV and EA has more amazing games than both combined.

I think it's Square the one that needs redemption.

"Capcom revived 2D fighting games by itself with SFIV"

And promptly crapped over everything with DLC and new versions of the same games, which then didn't use the old DLC.

As for EA it was specifically their company policies which messed up their "good games" and directly pissed people off.

Not that compared to all that Square have messed up in both policies and game quality. Had the additional nerve to be arrogant about it.

I don't actually own any Square-Enix games but I have seen plenty of dislike since the merger.
Square-Enix needs to prove itself or I'm afraid gamers will spell their doom

Capcom easily. EA makes some great games, and Square Enix, even if FF has gone downhill, still makes great games like Tomb Raider, Hitman, and DX.

Capcom's biggest accomplishment this gen was ruining RE.

Crapcom. After they tried every thing in their power to milk people for more money, They really have to do something special in order for me and a lot of gamers to buy their games from here on out. The on disc dlc of characters -blanka for example, who was already in ssfae- behind a pay wall of characters to the dlc for the "true" ending to "Asura's Wrath."
Honorable mentions include canceling MegaMan Legends, and ruining Resident Evil.

Definitely SquareEnix. And, things are already looking grim for the next gen, too.

Also,

"Instead, as the system cycle closes, they're giving the fans Final Fantasy 10 and 10-2 remakes."

Square without a doubt capcom at a very close second and the only thing ea needs to do is stop trying to screw the ppl buying their games other than that ea did well this gen. Sega would be 3rd in my opinion

square enix.

I would say capcom but square enix is a close 2nd.. Capcom just dropped the ball in almost EVERY aspect this generation.

I think SE will be fine(or their's hope) especially I am super excited for FFXV and KH3 (Especially these 2 titles fans were super hyped at E3 Sony Press Conference, and btw there already people happy about changing the name of Versus XIII to XV as well) and I am looking forward for their next Tomb Raider game.

Capcom definetly needs this the most they've been milking their games and franshises with their super and ultimate SF and MvC, people were mad about DmC and they neglect them. Alot of their games this gen like Remember Me, Dark Void, Bionic Commando reboot, Lost Planet games etc flopped and looks like Lost Planet 3 is next. RE6 was good as RE5 nor as RE4. Yep Capcom ruined RE and DMC pretty badly.
EDIT: (If you're going to give me a disagree then please tell me what's right with Capcom or what's wrong SE? Thanks)

EDIT2: Sorry I accidently wrote "RE6 was good as RE5 nor as RE4."
I meant RE6 was NOT good as RE5 nor as RE4.

EDIT3: I think Activasion also needs redeem as well since most of their games are FPS CoD clone and every Marvel game they make is always terrible just look at review of Deadpool or Spiderman games or X-Men games.

Activision/EA is my choice, only worried about the money and forgot about the games
MasterCornholio  +   747d ago
Out of that list i would say Square enix however IMO Gear Box needs to redeem themselves after the scandal with Aliens Colonial Marines and Duke Nukeum Forever.
lodossrage  +   747d ago
That's a good call.

I had forgotten Gearbox's debacles. To be fair though, Duke Nukem is/ isn't their fault. All they did was take what was left of 3D Realms code to remake the game for the fans. But at the same time, it IS their fault because they WILLINGLY took on that task, knowing the code was dated, thereby making the game bland and dated.
CBaoth  +   747d ago
spot on observation. The Spy who Cloned Me was similar to Bioshock 2's DLC; it was superior to the base game! That was all Gearbox. With DNF, they just cleaned up the mess of 3D Realms, who apparently thought they could party like Nolan Bushnell and STILL make games.

I wont forgive the travesty of Aliens though.

Square. Most of their games early this last gen were crap. They improved as the gen moved forward with Deus Ex, Sleeping Dogs, and Tomb Raider...

But their FF releases this gen were only OK (not great), FFXIV's first release was particularly bad, Kane and Lynch 2 stunk, Just Cause 2 was average, Last Remnant was average, Infinite Undiscovery average, and manay other below to average releases.

Capcom, had a mixed results gen... Deadrising, Dark Void, Dragon's Dogma were all solid new IPs. Resident Evil 5 was a solid game, but Raccoon City stunk, and RE6 wasn't as good as it could've been. They made up for it in RE Revelations though. Outside of their DLC on disc fiasco I quite liked Capcom and hope they continue to take risks this next gen.

EA had a good gen. Dragon Age, buying Mass Effect maker BioWare, Dante's Inferno, Dead Space, Battlefields, were their highlights, while their yearly sports games kept evolving at expected paces... They dropped their online pass which really helps, but day one DLC is still annoying. Medal of Honor was really their big bomb of the gen... Airborne was average, the first reboot was OK, and Warfighter stunk.
