AusGamers Goes Hands-On with Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer

AusGamers was one of the media outlets invited out to the Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer reveal event in Los Angeles this week and had a chance to get hands-on with the new mode.

They write:

"If any game mode combats complexity, it is Cranked -- a game mode which takes inspiration from the Jason Statham movie of a very similar name. In Cranked when players get a kill a countdown timer begins, in 30 seconds time, the player will blow up. The only way to avoid this death is to kill again. And again, and again.

It's not all bad though. To facilitate your newfound bloodlust you're given a speed boost. When Cranked you sprint faster than ever, allowing you to get from one side of the map to the other extremely quickly. Beyond these basic elements the mode is simply Team Deathmatch, but the addition of the speed boost and timer add an element of recklessness to the game you don't see in T(e)D(iu)M. Camping simply isn't an option when Cranked, so those with a more sedentary playstyle will either have to deal with killstreaks of one or step outside their comfort zone."

Hate to say it, but it looks like they have brilliantly walked a fine line...and will once again deliver the king of fps games to the public. It isn't genre defining like CoD4 but it will be loved. I am just happy to see others moving the genre forward with Battlefield 4, Titanfall and Destiny. CoD may reign supreme again but it isn't getting any easier for them to stay at the top.

The King of fps, no I will disagree its good but not the king, battlefield 4 is the up and coming king of fps, cod ghosts looks better than cods before it and I may even buy it at some point, but battlefield 4 for now is killing cod with massive 64 online players and countless vehicles, cod cant hold a candle against it.
