A look back at a gaming feature that seems to no longer carry the same importance.
Obviously this Story writer DOES NOT play any PC Games cause if he did then he would know that ALL MMO's are CO-Op. You can team up with your buddy and run around doing stuff together until your fingers bleed. and the best thing of all is that your buddy doesn't even have to be in your house Farting and eating up your food but you can still see his face and hear is voice over Skype. I play Guild Wars 2 and Firefall with my friends all the time. Like I said every darn PC MMO allows you to go Co-Op, Solo, or Full on Gang without that Horrible split screen non-sense!
MMOs are not the same at ALL. MMOs are rarely focused on story (TSW is one of the good ones), and you share the world with a larger group of people. I miss splitscreen games, having a buddy physically there and yes, even farting and eating up my food, is a good thing to me. I don't know what games you grew up playing but I spent my early gaming days playing James Bond splitscreen on N64 and it was awesome.
good god no.
Wait, what? I really don't think there has been a shortage of co-op campaigns this gen. It's been a staple of every Halo FPS game, Perfect Dark, Resistance, Gears of War, In fact I think most big shooters included it. However, I can remember being annoyed at not being able to play splitscreen online with, I believe, COD 4.
conflict desert storm had the starting mission having one player in a jail cell, while the other guy had to free him, but it took like 30 minutes... so fucking boring. make it like co-op escape 2/3 on fc2 and well be talking
I agree with the article. A good recent example of a great couch co-op game was Double Dragon Neon. I know a lot of games wouldn't work well with same screen co-op, and then a split screen option is better than nothing. I just wish that all games that allowed online co-op also allowed split screen AND system link co-op. My internet is so spotty that it drops out pretty often, but me and my bud have a lot of fun playing system link co-op games on our off days.
Yes for games with online co-op I wish they all included spilt screen which is increasingly not the case.I would like the option as prefer it sitting with people in the flesh on the sofa. But possibly could be the reason for this the real friends I have live with me that I play, other ftiends have different systems, different games, different hours to play, terrible internet just too many factors for me to not have friend to plau co-op with me online.
