'Strife' Coming for MOBA Players

Independent game developer S2 Games currently operates the third most popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game in the world, Heroes of Newerth (HON). The Kalamazoo, Michigan-based studio has spent the past two years creating what it hopes will be the MOBA to change everything – Strife.

For those not familiar with the recently flooded crowd of MOBAs, big publishers like Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (which is launching Infinite Crisis this year and already has Guardians of Middle Earth), Deep Silver (Dead Island: Epidemic) and Zynga (Solstice Arena) are chasing Riot Games. There’s good reason. Riot’s League of Legends has more than 85 million players and is poised to make over $350 million this year, according to Newzoo video game analyst Peter Warman. (Heroes of Newerth, Marc DeForest, PC, S2 Games, Strife)

Yeh Right LOL is just way too dominate although I prefer DotA 2.

LoL = the casual man's MOBA (like COD is the casual mans FPS)

DotA 2 = the Core man's MOBA (like Red Orchestra is the Core man's FPS)

85 million players LOL is just ridiculous but No one plays PC Games RIGHT!

Im trying my hardest to avoid MOBA games. I played DOTA on WC3 and could tell it was addicting.

Im just enjoying SC2. Luckily Im bad enough at that game to never get addicted.
