5 Games That Failed Miserably Despite Themselves

Warp Zoned writes:

"Over the long course of gaming history, there have been a lot of bad games; titles like Too Human and E.T. for the Atari 2600 have had notoriously negative receptions and connotations over the years. But bad games are easy to find, especially in today’s age. With platforms like Steam and programs like Kickstarter, ambitious games that would otherwise never have seen the light of day are being released on a regular basis. And for every great indie project like Limbo and Braid, there are literally hundreds of indie games that many of us have never played because they just don’t measure up. However, this list isn’t just going to be covering bad games, because plenty of games fail. Games that fail miserably are games that had nothing but potential going into their development, either because of the companies behind them or the names associated with them, games that would seemingly have to literally try to fail. Here are five games that failed miserably despite themselves."

I'd add "Mass Effect 3" to your list.

WoW? seriously? I don't think that should have made the list. it is an mmo and most gamers know those never launch as a complete package. besides, it has so much going for it in terms of subscription, that you can hardly call it a failure.

SWG didn't fail. It wasn't as polished as WoW but it was really good. You could actually be a pilot and have "Star" "Wars" unlike other SW mmos.

I should point out that SWG was FAR more complex than WoW.

As far as Jedi are concerned (Pre-CU that is) it really wasn't that difficult to do. Mastering all the professions was all you had to do. The trick was surviving bounty hunters. Pull out your saber with anyone else in range, and you became a mission for Bounty Hunters.

That, of course was only the first iteration of Jedi. It was revamped, then later axed and became a starting profession. I would say Pre-CU was easier to get Jedi, harder to be one.

Lumping in SWG with the likes of Duke Nukem Forever is BS. SWG was a successful mmo for its time, which was before WoW. It had its flaws, but it survived until the release of SWTOR. It died so SWTOR could launch and go f2p in a year:P
