Is Today's Pokemon X and Y Announcement Gamebreaking?

Yesterday, leaked CoroCoro scans showed – among other things – Mega Pokemon, which are effectively new evolutions of popular Pokemon. Now the magazine has hit shelves, it been confirmed that these Mega transformations will endow Pokemon with increased stats and new abilities, taking some of the best Pokemon in the game and making them even better. (3DS, Pokemon X and Y)

At first I was unsure of how to feel about it, but since it has been confirmed that you can only access Mega Evolution in battle, and that it is temporary, this is absolutely incredible! I think it really brings an entirely new dimension to the Pokémon games. I'm very excited to see the new Mega evolutions in the September CoroCoro release!

Its quite a drastic change. Hands on will be how I decide.

Also depends on what "triggers" this change. So far it seems to be a certain Item which is already a fair trade off.
