12 Games That Need Official English Localizations

BT writes: In this day and age, fan translations exist for just about every video game worth playing. Emulation is bigger than ever, even going so far as to support an entire console with only the promise of illicit ROMs. English speakers exist in a constant state of choice overload. Yet I am not satisfied.

There are still plenty of titles that I would love to see given proper, official localizations in North America. I’m sure many of you would rather support talented translation team like XSEED Games as well, so let’s take a moment to highlight the gems that Japan continues to keep to itself. (Ace Attorney Investigations 2, Final Fantasy Type-0, Mother 3, Nintendo DS, PC, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, PS3, PSP, Tales of Innocence, Wii, Yakuza 5)

Idunno why they just dont kickstart their games if cost is an issue. Kickstarter shows people will throw money on lots of various things and raise hundred thousands of dollars.

It's mostly because Kickstarters is like a gamble. Even companies don't know if it's going to work on in the end, and the thing is, not many people actually go to Kickstart until they actually hear about this cool bad ass title that's going to be released 4 years from now. Things like that really retract developers as well as gamers.

Yakuza 5.
I hate Sega -__-

Yep....I really wish they skipped out on that zombie Yakuza game getting localized and used those resources to localize Yakuza 5. Not that it was bad game, but I would much rather have Yakuza 5.

Sega makes so many poor decisions it's no wonder there console business went under. So many people in the west would love to play Phantasy Star Online and yet there is no translation as of yet. Then Sega wonders why they don't make profits in the West. The entire executive management staff at Sega needs to be fired.

They can make a profit in the west, by fucking advertising their games. I didn't even know of Yakuza 3 until my friend told me about it, same goes with Yakuza 4, i knew about it from the demo. Back then, i didn't get around the internet.

DARN IT Sega! Time to localize some shining force games!
We haven't seen one localized since the ps2 days and those were action rpgs and not what shining force is all about, tactical strategy and great power struggle plots.

As much as I want that...Never gonna happen.

The series died, when Camelot left.

Vita really NEEDS this!

You'd think that with the success of One Piece Pirate Warriors in the west more devs would just OP to localize with just English subtitles.

You can also add .hack//Link, Tales of Rebirth (port), Suikoden on the PSP. Beyond the Labyrinth on the 3DS and Tales or Vesperia PS3 version.

Very nice list. But you forgot one game in particular. Seiken Dentetsu, or in other words Secret of Mana 3, the game that truly defined RPG's on the Super Nintendo. Check it out if you haven't done so already.
