The next game from Journey, Flower and Flow creators thatgamecompany is still at least two years away, according to a New Yorker profile of creative director Jenova Chen, who offers new hints about his studio's currently unannounced project.
They have to make something amazing and brilliant or else it will live under the shadow of Jouney. That's one of the main negatives when releasing something after a critical claim project. That's what happened with Uncharted 3 and I'm afraid something similar will happen to the sequel of The Last of Us.
There is no Last of Us sequel!
This dev should be given a AAA game. I think they deserve it.
They don't need it though.
you mean a budget to make an AAA game, which mostly comes from a publisher who forces them to do what they (the publishers) want. like for instance: milk the shit out of journey. I might have to disagree and say they should stay indie, and if needed get some crowd funding for there next project.
Not all publishers milk the teet of the consumer. Some actually see a gamer.
well to be clear I was thinking of EA specifically, but I agree there are some publishers out there that do sometimes take risk.
Cool , maybe their next game is a bigger and lengthier one that's why they need the time.
i hate how games like this are considered risky. That's the problem with the entire industry right now.
Publishers don't admit that their games that didn't sell were because of lack of planning, advertising, and/or their game sucked. They make an excuse that they're "risky."
I don't care when or on what platform. I want it. I will always support this team.
I've been a fan of THATGAMECOMPANY since 2008. Bought flow for my psp and ps3 and loved it. Then flower blew me away and at that moment I realized that I would buy all the games they make.So when journey came out I already knew it would be a masterpiece just like their other games. Now that they're popular imagine what they can do with an increased budget.
I'm really hoping for a full length game from them someday.
Full length? You mean feature length.
They're definately one of the best indie developers out there
I will just be patient, and wait on them.
