It's Been 3 Months And 12 Days Since My XBOX Broke And Microsoft Still Won't Send Me A Box

Reader Dustin lives on a military base and Microsoft keeps telling him that they can't fulfill his warranty because UPS doesn't ship XBOXs back and forth from military bases. According to UPS, this isn't true. Dustin tried escalating his complaint and got some apologies, but months went by and still no box arrived for his broken XBOX 360.

WHy is it that ever single time 1 person has a problem it becomes news. WTF cares. Why not have it shipped to a friends house and picked up fromt here. Please just stop posting these stupid stories. Everyone knows i's to make MS/ SOny look bad. Lets talk about gamessssssssssssssssssssssssss sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss sssssssssssssssssssss

sonarus3305d ago (Edited 3305d ago )

Actually he tried sending it to a friends hse but nothing.

That is what happens when this sort of thing happens all the time. Gamers really shouldn't get used to sending their consoles in for repair. I wonder how users tolerate it. I would rather have no console at all than go thru such nonsense.

Seriously one of my friends got his luggage lost by british airways and guess what was in it. They found the luggage but never sent it. At the end of the day, he ended up buying another Xbox. I loaned him my ps2 for the time being lol. Though BA refunded him some money for the inconvenience it is hard to wait with nothing to play for so long.

you're making way too much sense. 8D

chaosatom3333305d ago (Edited 3305d ago )

maybe because the problems are so common with xbox.
---Microsoft doesn't listen to people,

---They haven't labeled which xboxs have cooler chips in them,

---haven't even gotten around the problem with RROD,

---don't solve for other problems other than RROD

---Don't report the number of consoles that have been RRODed.

dont say u never heard the warning!

deeznuts3305d ago

and yet some say the 3 year warranty alleviates any fears of failure, until you hear about troubles getting it fixed!

I believe that is the whole reason there are supervisors and higher up authorities you should demand to speak to when contacting any Company, to avoid these "sticky" situations, and they can quickly adjust their current policies or regulations to work with you to get the situation resolved...

If I was a glutton for punishment, I would by a box for sure!

Daz3305d ago (Edited 3305d ago )

Decapitator you do submit alot of good articals/storys but some just cause stupid arguments like this.

I have had probelms with other companes before but i dont complain like a little girl who ever wrote thsi artical.

I just kept on and on and it got there in the end :)

Lord Anubis3305d ago (Edited 3305d ago )

The more the problem is exposed the better chances of benefit arise.

Also, those reporting the story need to get sanctioned, simply because they don't like the news or puts a company on a bad light it doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be published. The same goes for Sony and Nintendo stories.

Why can't people understand that the more a problem is exposed the higher the chances of us benefiting from the situation. I hope Microsoft feels embarrassed in enough to straighten out things.

How come no one complains about not getting HD cables included when you buy a PS3? Or the fact that you need to buy a brand new controller to get a 10 year old feature like rumble? Is there any battery warranty on the controllers, since they have built-in batteries that you can't swap when they die? Sony promised that all games on the PS3 would be displayed in 1080p. It never happened.

I mean if you brought that up in articles and kept posting it on here again and again they might fix it for you.

I'm not saying this article is wrong in any way, the RROD phenomenon scks. It's just that the level of attention these stories are getting is ridicolous.

Lord Anubis3305d ago

Go ahead and write an article about and I'll approve it. BTW there was no promise of 1080p for every game.

People make a choice of coming to this site to get their news, contributors only offer them a variety pack, you can't decide
what people want to read or not,you are actually helping the same thing
you have gone on a crusade against.

Your normal posts are way better than this. But for the readers sake, I will answer all your questions one by one...

How come no one complains about not getting HD cables included when you buy a PS3? = We have, they still are not including a $5.00 hdmi cable with the system.

Or the fact that you need to buy a brand new controller to get a 10 year old feature like rumble? = Well it is common knowledge that Sony was in litigation with Emersion Technologies over this very feature and instead of delaying the PS3 further to include the rumble feature, they decided to remove the feature and give us the PS3. Personally I think it was a good choice.

Is there any battery warranty on the controllers, since they have built-in batteries that you can't swap when they die? = Of course, lifetime replacement of the battery free of charge. Of course you will need to send your controller in to Sony to have it replaced. If you don't like that, they sell replacement batteries which are user replaceable, just remove a couple of screws and there is the battery.

Sony promised that all games on the PS3 would be displayed in 1080p. It never happened. = Actually you are quite wrong there. They never promised every game to be running at 1080p, just like they never promised every game would run at 60fps or even 120fps. These are usually weak arguments brought up by weak minded individuals trying to bring down a strong system.

But this isn't an article on the PS3's rumble feature. It is an article on yet another 360 brother that just because he does not live in the cookie cutter life that MS expects, he is being refused a service he has been promised.

Ya know, this just brings up a nit-pic I have over this warrantee of the 360. Why only 3yrs. Is that what MS thinks the systems' life should be? Two years from now when I look at my 360 I will have to decide if I want to chance turning it on because a obvious design flaw which has yet to be fully resolved may take my system down! That I do not like one bit!

Replacing battery on the sixaxis or DS3 yourself wouldnt void the warranty, *ITS IN THE MANUAL* I believe page 14 or 15 but you can check, if you got a PS3 that is.
