The Elder Scrolls Anthology is pointless

From the article, "So, the big news of the day is pretty much the existence of The Elder Scrolls Anthology. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a $79.99 set that gives people The Elder Scrolls: Arena, The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind and its expansions, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and its expansions and The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and its DLC. It sounds like an amazing, glorious thing, but really, it’s pointless unless someone is a hard-core collector."

I don't really see how this is pointless. I never got into the Elder Scrolls until Oblivion. So I never got to play the first 3 games. Sure I already own Oblvion and Skyrim on my 360, but for $80 to get all 5 games with all DLC available is a pretty good deal to me.

Both of the first two games are absolutely free to download from Bethesda's website. You just need to grab a DOS emulator to run them, and those are easy to get.

So in reality you're really paying for Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.

You can pick up the Morrowind Collection ( every expansion included) for about £10-15.

So, if you're really wanting to play the first three games I'd recommend downloading the first two and buying Morrowind. You'll save a good bit of cash.

But of course the entire package is rather nice :)

If they gave me extras then I might have considered it. But personally, I've only heard good things about the last three games that have been released.

Yeah, I saw that Steam had a huge sale this past weekend as well, which was more of an incentive to not get the collector's pack. I will agree that having everything in one neat package is very cool.
