There's More to 'Dragon's Crown' than Boobs, Including these Famous Works of Art

Anthony Accinelli of RealSG writes, "Now that the review embargoes have been lifted, I find that I am being force fed a bunch of disillusioned sexism talk in regards to the art found within. Yes, there are character models in Dragon's Crown that show a lot of the human body (both male and female mind you). Yes, they are grossly exaggerated. Yes, it is an art style.

There is also an absolutely insane amount of classical and modern art found within. Which have sadly been completely glossed over." (Dragon's Crown, PS Vita, PS3)

Big Boobs becoming more rare in recent games, perhaps they'll go extinct in the future, thankfully there's 'Dragon's Crown'.

Me love Dragon's Crown.

I think Golden Axe's Tyris Flare and this Amazon should have a game together.

Beautiful game.

There is no accounting for taste.

Ignore the negative creeps.

Honestly, I find the character art atrocious. The proportions on these charcters, especially the women, cross the line of ridiculous and just into cringe-worthy. The heads are very small and the bodies are like a caricature. That said, the backrounds and monsters look great. And the coloring and shading look gorgeous.

"Big Boobs becoming more rare in recent games"

More like boobs you can't see in real life are becoming more rare. I for one don't find obnoxiously inflated boobs, that may as well literally break the alphabet of cup sizes, attractive in the slightest.

Which is a completely fine opinion to have. It's when that opinion crosses into the "you're a sexist asshole for playing this game" realm that it becomes a problem.

Did you read the article? It's point was to shed light on the fact that while the Sorceress is exaggerated, the rest of the characters are as well. It's the art style. And that's only 1% of it.

The other 99% of the art in the game is well researched depictions of real-life culture.

I never said it was sexist, just that I think it's ugly. That includes balloon boobs. Honestly, these militants trying to stamp out whatever they percieve is an accusation of sexism can be just as bad as the people they're after.

I know the rest of the characters are the same, and I called out all of them in that post. I said "these characters" and "especially the women" and not just the women. It's just my opinion, don't let it bother you.

But sure, people can feel free to call me a puritan because I criticize an art direction and don't find helium-inflated boobs attractive. Whatever works for some of you.

Well, that's nice of you to educate us on that front Mr. Chivalry Puritan, however some people do like games that exercise exaggerated fantasy that you can't find in real life for the very fact that you can't find it in real life.

I'm not saying I agree with or like the character designs, I'm simply saying that it aims to fulfill a niche that some individuals enjoy from indulging in a fantasy universe.

You know... because lightsabers aren't real either, but I still think they're pretty cool.

Oh i disagree sir. http://www.spike.com/video-...

Now quit crying it's only a game.

Pointing to world records from strippers, who obviously all got insane surgeries to have those, to justify that kind of point is absolutely laughable.

I'm not crying. I can't voice any kind of dissenting opinion without it seeming that way, I guess. I'd put "crying" more along the lines of berating someone for saying obscenely large breasts were not attractive or that a caricature-esque art direction wasn't either.

wait wait, so how is a contest between strippers help your argument, THIS is what porn does to people, you probably haven't heard of this but um, the average everyday women does not have triple D boobs at the age of 16

You with an ugly avatar that doesn't even represent anything in real life sure cry a lot about how artwork need to be true to real life.

99% of anything drawn anywhere doesn't have real life proportions, I'm sure you know that. And I'm sure you are just using your stupid retarded reasons to troll.

All I can say is crawl back to your hole.

Everyone has to be a critic in one way or another...

There has to be a reason behind every little thing....

(I hope you can read through my sarcasm)

I rather play video games with a sexy female character. Than have to play with a scared dirty androgynous stand in, whose suppose to be lara croft.
