Animal Crossing: New Leaf Sales Are Over 5 Million Worldwide

As of June 30th, Animal Crossing: New Leaf has sold 1.19 million copies outside Japan, and a total of 5.4 million copies worldwide. This counts both retail and digital sales. (3DS, Animal Crossing: New Leaf)

That is because sometimes you just want to tinker around a little bit instead of getting heavy into a plot of gameplay like in some other games.

I've never played one, but may buy it in the future when the price drops.

Creating a game that both children and adults can enjoy for hours on end seems to be a challenge for many developers. These guys definitely got it right.

Arrgh - I managed to remove the cart from my 3DS and not play this game for 2 whole days now. I guess I'll swap it back in (removing smt4) and get back to bug catching and fishing and taking care of those pesky neighbors. Sometimes they get sick and if I'm not around to give them medicine I don't know what will happen.

Is this game really that good? I had zero interest, but I've come across a few interesting articles lately (Most recently, IGN) Now, I'm EXTREMELY interested in playing this game - I have no idea why! It DOES seem like a game that you can't really describe why you like it.

Well, you'd better watch a few gameplay videos from Youtube and see if the game interests you in any way. What you see is what you'll get. It's a pretty simple life simulator and a game you'll pick up when you want to relax and get immersed in the game world.
It's certainly not for everyone, though.

Thanks! I'm certainly open to a life simulator. I've played some pretty unique games in my time, everything lately has had a pretty deep narrative so this could be a nice change of pace. I've never been into strategy either, but the Project X Zone demo has it on my radar.

I'll check out some vids now, thanks for the response! :)
