"Xillia builds on success of previous Tales games" Tales of Xillia Missoulian Review

Everything players love about the “Tales” series makes a return in “Xillia.” The characters are beautifully designed; the series’ classic skits, short, fully voiced conversations between the characters, will be reused; stunning anime cut scenes are included; and the battle system, the core of every “Tales” game, will have some new touches. (PS3, Tales of Xillia) 4.5/5

It's gonna be a long week. I've been waiting for quite some time to play this. Luckily I have it paid off in full though, just gotta bide my time until then.

Just picked up Ni No Kuni on sale the other day, so that should help lol.

Looking forward to getting this game!

I love the tales series, a lot of reviews says the characters are all cliche's in a negative way, but I find them to be funny, likable and most importantly memorable.

This game looks cool... But, I played symphonia for like 12 hours and I didn't like it.

Have the latest Tales Games progressed enough, that I could like it?
Artavasdus  +   735d ago
Each Tales game after Symphonia made the series' battle system better and better, for instance Tales of the Abyss added true 3D movements and Xillia has link attacks and artes, special actions and the ability to change your party on the fly during battle.

Xillia also has other improvements, like bigger environments to explore and two scenarios depending on the main character you choose.

Even the story seems to be the best among the latest Tales games, according to those who played the import version.

Mine too. I hope it is as good as it looks. I miss jrpg's!

You should definitely check Vesperia as well if you are able! It is my favorite tales game! Great story, awesome characters (probably one of the best jrpg protagonists)!

It's also a current gen game with nice graphics and a robust (addictive :P) battle system! So it's not like you will be playing a retro game or anything.
