Bioshock Infinite Returns to Rapture; Only Problem Becomes the Suffering Storyline

KaboomShark writer Ryan "Rdawg" T Writes - "Ha! None of you realize it yet, but I feel pretty damn awesome about myself because unlike my colleagues, I saw this coming. When I finished Bioshock Infinite, the only thing I could think about was what they could possibly come out with in terms of DLC. They could obviously do things such as explore different Booker x Elizabeth timelines, expand upon their original ideas (the ones seen in the E3 demos that everyone seemed to love, or release an arena based pack that puts you in random firefights across the city of Colombia (Oh wait, they are actually doing that...it's available today on Steam). However, none of that was going to be enough for me. I wanted one thing, and one thing only. I wanted to make the trip back to Rapture (I mentioned it to the various KS writers and they told me I was crazy)."

"Ha! None of you realize it yet, but I feel pretty damn awesome about myself because unlike my colleagues, I saw this coming."

The line between confidence and arrogant douchebaggery hath been crossed.

WolfLeBlack1088d ago

Indeed. I'm fairly sure I remember the vast majority of the gaming community calling this one. It wasn't exactly hard to see coming :D

bangoskank1088d ago

That douche lost his credibility when he dubbed himself "Rdawg". WTF cares what this guy has to say?

bangoskank1088d ago

was only god forgives worth watching? heard it sucked.

Wni01088d ago

Yes, it is. I didn't watch the trailer though. In retrospect the trailer makes it seem different and better.

But don't expect anything from the movie, just enjoy it. The visuals are beyond good.

bangoskank1087d ago

Thanks. I usually like stuff everybody hates so this might be my kind of film.

SPOILER

When did I miss the part in the game that said Rapture would only exist when Booker doesn`t take the Baptism? Given for all we know Booker/Comstock didn`t build Rapture how would this have any effect on Rapture existing or not? Due to the parallel universes there will be a Rapture where Booker exists and a Rapture where Comstock exists. For all we know Andrew Ryan may have seen Columbia and got his inspiration to build Rapture from there. Or he could have built a city under water because he has seen Columbia and was afraid of the flying city that can reach every place on earth.

Also depending on how you look at it Booker didn`t die, only the universes with Comstock meaning all versions of Comstock would have died leaving all Bookers still alive wiping out the universes where he took the baptism.

I`m looking forward to going back to Rapture and will get the DLC for sure.

MattyG1088d ago

The author is wrong. Rapture doesn't exist because of Columbia/Comstock. Columbia is just another form of Rapture. They are similar cities, but with different details in different universes.

MoXxXi1088d ago

I may have worded it wrong, but more what I was saying was that they exist in different universes, not that one happens because of another.

OrangePowerz1088d ago

In the concept of parallel universes and that there is always a tower wouldn`t rule out that a universe exists where both Columbia and Rapture could exist in the same universe. Elizabeth was saying that there is always a tower, meaning there is always a universe with Columbia, Rapture or any other kind of screwed up city, but not that there is always one tower and there could be reality where both towers are present. Besides of that it`s easy to explain how Elizabeth can be in Rapture even if only Columbia or Rapture could exist as she can open the tears to just enter another universe at will.

DogtagDuke19921088d ago

you are correct. There is no "if he does this then this exists" scenario. There will always be a lighthouse, a city, a girl, a man....meaning....in one universe (Booker's) there is a lighthouse that leads to a city (Columbia) which is ruled by a man (Comstock). In an alternate universe...there is still a city (rapture) ...still a man(Andrew Ryan)...and still a lighthouse...Columbia doesnt exist in this universe. The idea of infinite parallel universes is at play. Irrational is just exploring the lives of our beloved Booker and Elizabeth in one of these INFINITE universes. C'mon Ryan (author of article), i didnt think that it was that difficult to grasp. The story was so perfectly sculpted that it was comprehensive and masterfully told.
