Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD could come to Xbox 360 if self-publishing rumours are true

Just Add Water will "take a serious look" at releasing Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD on Xbox 360 if rumours suggesting that developers will soon be able to self-publish titles on the console turn out to be true. (Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath HD, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

wasnt it
the size of the game that was the problem, not publishing issues

Nope they got it below the 2gb limit and then Microsoft said "now you have to give us the Gold Edition or something like that because that is how we roll". JAW then gave up.

It was the fact that MS treated indie's like crap until they realised they were important about a week ago. No surprise that indie's aren't flocking to be on the system.

well, I'm happy to see that other gamers might be able to play this title! it's an amazing game from a dev that I like very much.

more income can only mean more games.

I am all for indies getting their shot but I dont want a bunch of low budget BS filling up my arcades and stores. It very similar to the music industry, they only give enough space for a few artists to exist at once and thats because if you flood the market with every person than can hold a note or play a tune everybody becomes nobody.

These structures are in place for a reason. As another example from tthe music industry the further back you go the harder it was to make and record you use to need to know music and be able to play an instrument or sing, then synthesizers and sequencers came. Then you needed to still get in to a studio to record now you can install digital studios for a fraction of the cost it used to be to get a song done. You use to have to train your voice to be a great singer so you could always hit the right notes, then came auto tune (believe it or not it wasnt made for rappers). Now look at this crap music we have today sound like a gang with ADHD got hopped up on speed and let loose in the pots and pans aisle.

The point is the easier it become the faster the deterioration. I would hope they can stay strong though. Look at the look at android and apple stores and you will find tons of worthless crap.

I'm just saying keep it classy San Diego.

as somebody that works on the creative side of the music industry, I find your analogy to be spot on, edonus.

When you look at music nowadays the good stuff often gets buried under crap by people who have been enabled by tech that has made the process of creating something easy (auto tune, over use of quantization etc.)

I seen the same thing happening in gaming for a while now.
