...and surprise!! It was disc locked the whole time! Yay! Go Capcom, you're the best!

whether or not it's locked on the disc doesn't matter as much to me. what matters is that they're charging for something as simple as this. it probably took, like...two seconds to code in, and not only that, but it actually changes the mechanics of the game. a game that is focused around multiplayer.

this should be free no matter what. it's both funny and sad that Capcom would do stuff like this, especially since there was an article posted yesterday with CD Projekt Red saying they don't want to nickle and dime customers for small updates or fixes. articles like that just make companies like Capcom look even worse when they do these things.

Exactly, and since SF4 first came out, they initially promised they wouldn't do shit like this. I remember when gems were announced, when talking about SF x Tekken features, they were going on and on about how it wouldn't cause any imbalance issues.

Anyone with any common sense can see it obviously causes imbalance issues, that's the whole point of the gems, to change the actual gameplay balance of character attributes. I don't think the argue should even be that gems should be free, they SHOULDN'T EXIST.

When I heard of gems, I knew what it really was. It's just another avenue for a $$$ DLC cash-in. Great balancing in fighters is something Capcom has always been known for, for them to be greedy for $$ so much that they're willing to compromise that, just shows how far they've fallen.

I don't mind paying for DLC, but this is why capcom is normally surrounded with bad news. I wish they'd go back to roots and not rely on updates and dlc to get the game right...sigh....

I was actually waiting for a "Super", "complete" edition of this game hopefully to see Capcom listen even a tiny bit. I would of liked to see it have all DLC, a customize battle mode that allows for a mix and match options like no gems modes, no combo presets, 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 and not needed but it would be nice if it had at least 4 new characters (2 being the once rumoured Devil Kazuya and Evil Ryu, and the other 2 being most fan requested characters) and 2 - 6 new stages. Gems, no 1 vs 1, and the whole DLC fiasco was a huge letdown for me, ended up not liking the game at all even though I initially couldnt wait for it once it was announced :/
