My flatmates in first year university would sit down and watch me play Uncharted 2. I never understood why but they were just interested in it and what will happen next

I agree with most of what was said here but that's the second time Pachter has promoted someone taking over your game on the X1. Is he deliberately ignoring the PS4 with it's dedicated button for doing just that? Sony explained how it would work and showed us it working in February, so why is it he's promoting something on the X1 that was reported after Sony's February announcement and at the moment is nothing but words? It seems to me that the 'share' button is being deliberately overlooked.

There's just some odd mentality among the "professional" gaming media to promote MS over Sony and treat anything introduced, unless its painfully plain and obvious like motion control and the Wii, as if MS first introduced it. And even in the case of motion control MS has received tons of credit for Kinect regardless that nothing of 2.0 has really been shown.

Whether or not all that is unconscious nationalism or a paycheck under the table is flamebait fuel.

I wouldn't say there's a pay check involved, but there is a tendency to approach any subject from a Microsoft perspective. I'm not particularly bothered by it, the media has definitely shifted away from the incessant PS brand bashing, and MS HAS received the giant share of negativity in recent months. I just find the habit odd. I remember a similar feeling when the Kinect was getting constantly compared to the Wii. Why did they overlook the obvious comparison? These are the things that flag up 'agenda' to me.
