Nokia today announced the global launch of their N-Gage platform. This mobile service will give Nokia mobile phone owners a chance to try and purchase mobile games.
If at first you don't succeed, crash and burn and explode into a million billion pieces.
Honestly, I dont know why they are doing this.
Nor do I. IF it failed so bad the first time. Why not just take their losses and move on?
what a beautiful world... :)
Who ok'ed this?
Well. It IS gaming news. Nothing anyone cares about. But still news.
no i mean who ok'ed this idea to bring it back out? btw im not expecting anyone to actually KNOW but still......WHO OK'ED THIS?
good luck nokia you wont need it, lol.
OHHHHHH. That is a good qustion. I guess Nokia wanted the waste alot of money.
i don't think mobile gaming has become mainstream enough but it looks like it's heading that way with other companies jumping into mobile gaming.
This isn't a relaunch, it's a completely different set up with exactly the same name (admittedly it's a bit confusing) and it looks like it could do quite well. The thing that the first N-Gage did wrong was assume that mobile gamers (of which there are literally millions, its a $7bn a year industry) want to play stripped down console games on their mobile. They don't, what they want are casual games but casual games that raise the bar. The new N-Gage has got some good stuff on their already, Hooked on: Creatures of the Deep is great as is System Rush Revolution. Not necessarily for console gamers but a relevant and forward thinking second bit at the cherry if you ask me.
