(slightly off topic) Anyone know why Sony/BR use's slightly smaller case's than their counter parts, MS/dvd? I wonder if so when displayed it always has to be put at the front...(just an observation)

On topic, think I'll stick with the standard edition, as much as I want a GTA bag...

it's a marketing thing. Blu-Ray is sleeker, cases are sleeker. The reason for a small case is nothing more than to differentiate the titles easily from DVD for purchasing reasons. That my opinion.
I love em though, got two whole shelves filled with movies and games now, not a bad start.

SUP3R3907d ago (Edited 3907d ago )

lol I thought I was the only one wondering that.
The PS3 cases look sexier to me.
360 still uses those big old crunchy PS2 styled cases :(

Kleptic3907d ago

I remember reading something about this just before the PS3 launched...Each media format creators in some form own rights to what the media gets distributed in...there is 'official' boxes for each type of media basically...and yeah, its all marketing stuff...CD had the jewel cases, DVD at first had the terrible cardboard things, as well as the plastic,...but later switched to only the plastic boxes...Blu Ray and HD-DVD used cases from the same supplier, but in different colors obviously...there are little differences between each studio's casing sometimes, but iirc the size of the boxes are controlled...and special rights have to be granted to make special addition cases and crap...I remember Peter Jackson complaining about that when making the extended LOTR set...

and the PS3 BD games have their own cases that are DVD thickness but smaller...which I like more than the super thin BD movie things...but whatever

This and MGS4 are what every developer/publisher should take a look at when bringing out a LE. One look at this and I couldn't help but order this one instead of the vanilla game package.

Fishy Fingers3907d ago

Some have to take 2 vanilla's rather than blowing there cash on one Neapolitan :(

sprinkles are a stretch for me right now...

I'm betting 90% of those who get this will use the security box to store their pot in, lol

Jim Crowslaw3907d ago

Is it just this cpu or what?

Ghoul3907d ago

you can comment once the news has been submitted, but i can take some time till the news is approved and appears on the front page

Tony240ZT3907d ago

I do the same thing. Much easier to view through a RSS feed.

Looking foward to the packaged deal that I preordered through amazon.

AlterEgo3907d ago (Edited 3907d ago )

there's a PENDING news section, where articles are made and they have to get 'approved' by 10 members.

During the time they're in the approval process, you can comment on them.

But if they fail the approval...they don't make it to the front page.
