Self-publishing is the future, not an optional extra

Successful platforms need to engage niche audiences. With mid-range games in a death spiral, indie titles will rise to take their place. (Industry)

I'm baffled by all this MS flip-flopping.

It's almost like they're so focused on other media and cloud features that they've forgotten what is most important and have had to be reminded on multiple occasions by gamers and developers.

Great that they're finally listening, but they should've had their fingers on the pulse from the start.
