Absolute Gadget: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Review

Absolute Gadget writes: "After what's seemed like years in the making, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has finally screeched onto the Playstation 3. So, do good things come to those who wait?

First of all, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is unlike previous releases on the PS3 because it isn't a full version of the game. "What?" We hear you say. It is, in fact, a glorified demo version of what's to come in this highly esteemed series.

Now that might seem like the biggest load of nonsense ever. And some might ask what makes Polyphony Digital so special that they can make consumers part with almost 20 quid for something that is essentially unfinished? The reason for doing it is clear – to build up the hype and excitement normally reserved for blockbuster games such as, well, Gran Turismo. It seems to have worked, too, because GT 5 prologue has been as eagerly anticipated as the best of 'em. Not bad going for a demo, so far."

I like how he hasn't finished the game.

What about the Class S races with tuning options?

lol from the first few sentances you can tell that the so called reviewer hasnt got a clue what the hell hes's talkin about. this statment, "First of all, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is unlike previous releases on the PS3 because it isn’t a full version of the game. “What?” We hear you say. It is, in fact, a glorified demo version of what’s to come in this highly esteemed series", alone shows he knows little of gran turismo. he talks as if its the first time its been done. also gran turismo as been well documented to be gettin features added includin car damage. also gttv adds loads of value. you can spend hours on this game tryin to complete it so callin it a glorified demo is just wrong.

Another overly harsh review, it's not a 10, but it's far from a 6 either.

Apart from AI and physics on wall bouncing, its a pretty damn good demo. Handlings come a long way, with a wheel its very realistic. Online is very poor though because of the servers being in Japan.

I just hope damage will also affect the workings of the car and instead of wall bouncing, wall crashing.
