Justin Carter: A tale of innocence lost

MWEB GameZone writer, Stephanie Duchenne, looks at the cases of teenagers Justin Carter and Josh Pillault, jailed for comments made while in an online game. What does incarceration mean for these young men?

The story is too old to be commented.

Gr8 read and I totally share your views. This is the internet, people say stupid things all the time, especially gamers. Please don't take it that I imply we can behave like a bunch of retards and there be 0 consequences, there SHOULD be, BUT the punishment should fit the crime. Carter's punishment so far has ruined his life, how is that fitting?

Welcome to the new, next generation police state, where everything is monitored, and your best friend is now an informant (either intentionally or not)

I don't think it ruined his life. If he's clever he'll bounce back from this.

Deplorable deconstructiong of social premise. I can't wait for the backlash to this. Hypocricies be damned.
