"But at the end of the day, it’s the cold, hopeless atmosphere that drives The Last of Us to the top of my favorite games of all time. The story told is heartbreaking; the characters we grow to love lose their souls along the way, and our feelings and sympathy are lent to them. If a game can drive tears from my eyes and leave me so conflicted towards its main protagonist and ending, its managed to lodge itself firmly in my mind. That’s a sign of good art there."
