Following last week’s batch of images, Sony has released four more screenshots of inFAMOUS: Second Son, coming to PlayStation 4 in the first quarter of 2014.
Infamous Second Son is going to Ionic Drain everything. Suckerpunch is one of the most underrated dev teams out there. I'm happy they're gonna finally have their time to shine.
edit: I gain and lose bubbles like no one else.
Drain the competitors? I thought the Infamous games were great and am looking forward to this one but is there any game similar to Infamous coming out on any other platform? Not that I'm aware. I'd be happy to be proven wrong. Perhaps I misunderstood you? Whoops, didn't notice you have one bubble.
Wow. This game looks absolutely amazing. Here is another great exclusive for the PS4. Here the developers don't have to worry about multi console release and thus can avoid the lowest common denominator(xbone) factor and thereby take full advantage of the power on tap from the PS4. Awesome , awesome, oh and did I mention awesome?
♥ Infamous: Second Son looks amazing ♥
funny about the bubbles i noticed that too :D These screens are insane, it feels like some horsepower is involved in there! Too bad this game cannot make it to the release date of the PS4, i can't wait to explore this beautiful world made by one of my favorite game developer.
their will be more improvements in inFAMOUS: Second Son than the graphics and animation, Sucker Punch have one of the lead gameplay designers from Halo.
At a resolution of 5,760×3,240? I call BULLSHOT!! Unless of course their intent is to show off the power of a high end PC. http://gematsu.com/gallery/... http://gematsu.com/gallery/...
The title pic has me thinking of The Last of Us with a PS4 release :D inFamous: SS is looking great.
And here's the kicker: Up until the official PS4 reveal a few months ago in February, devs thought the PS4 was only going to have 4 GB of GDDR5 RAM. Even 1st party devs thought the PS4 was only going to have 4 GB of RAM. In other words, these games we're seeing were built with target specs of 4 GB of RAM, but now the actual system has double that. Let that sink in. Imagine what games built from the ground up for ~8 GBs of RAM will look like...
you've said it all!! Sony always said that they're only scratching the surface! Now the 1000000$ question is: how thick is the surface because this is scary.
you can have 60GB of Ram and it changes nothing cause graphic fidelity all depends on the power of the GPU which is almost a AMD HD7850 so that's the limit of the PS4. the extra ram will help on world size, A.I. complexity, on screen characters, etc.. The Ps3 suffered cause it had way too little ram but Devs got the most out of it. The PS4 has a ton of ram but not all 8GB will be for gaming with 1GB dedicated to O.S.. so far 7GB is for Gaming but that may change as the PS4 will be tasked to do other things at the same time like recording gameplay which may take up more Ram from gaming.
@ATi_Elite Actually your wrong... The recording featured is a background function that is being controlled by a secondary chip that does not task the Ram. Everyone forgets that the secondary background chip exists and that it's a 4 core chip that will handle everything non game related in the background. So zero impact on the Ram from that stuff.
Now that's a next gen title. And people were saying the leap to next gen won't be that big. Genji: Days OF The Blade screenshots http://www.gameover.gr/phot... http://images.eurogamer.net... http://cf.shacknews.com/sha... http://www.psu.com/media/ge... Infamous: Second Son Screenshots http://gematsu.com/gallery/... http://gematsu.com/gallery/... http://gematsu.com/gallery/... http://gematsu.com/gallery/... Genji was the only launch title that resembles Infamous in some form. Both games are exclusive to its next gen predecessors. Its obvious Infamous looks 10x as better then Genji for a launch title so I'll say the leap is much bigger.
I can't wait!
Crysis 3 can go home :D
you are either willfully blind or just ignorant if you think Infamous: Second Son is approaching Crysis 3 quality. http://www.youtube.com/watc... skip to 3:40. if you honestly feel that Infamous: SS is approaching that technical level of graphics, then you have been sucked so far down the rabbit hole of fanboyism that i genuinely feel sorry for you.
tries to prove point... by linking to lossy 30fps youtube video. Comparing ps4 launch games with PC games is a futile exercise anyway. Come back in 18 months with a better video source and knock yourself out proving your point.
Even if Infamous can't match Crysis 3 graphically I'm 100 percent sure that gameplay will be leaps ahead of it.
Screenshots? REALLY?! In 2013??? Show me some native-res, uncompressed GAMEPLAY video, then I'll be impressed. Seriously, only fanboys give two shits about BULLSHOTS in 2013.
http://uk.gamespot.com/infa... There you go. Some gameplay for you
+1 for your reply! @SuperSteve you have officially been served.
Destroyed him with that comment...
I said NATIVE-RES, and UNCOMPRESSED. That video is neither.
Lmao!... Supersteve! Just have a seat... And be quiet!
Infamous is my favorite game(s) this gen. I'm super stoked for the new release. PS Lol at PC elietists getting all buttsore. Don't you guys have a patch to install or driver to update?
Just so you know though, that's only in 720p, so it STILL doesn't do the game justice. When the game is running at 1080p 100% finished?? Get out of here SuperSteve, you're obviously just not buying a PS4. I am ;)
Not sure why people are so quick to call them bullshots when the gameplay (not even the finished product) looks just as good as the screens.
You're in the wrong area...how often do we get what you're asking for? Must be hard for you to buy a game since that's what the model is. Release screenshots and a few trailers leading up till launch. How many NATIVE UN-COMPRESSED videos can you find on the web of current gen games? Are they that prevalent to be demanding them of next gen un-finished un-released games?
Is that all what you care about?? hurr durr grafx
Isn't that all this article is really about? Otherwise, who would care looking some buildings on a city street and some guy's face, lol.
@midnightrain I don't really care about graphics.
Name one PC open world game that looks better. And please, don't throw Skyrim with mods at me. Also, you're pretty contradictory, an uncompressed 1080 native pic or video would make it look even better.
are you a retard or what...
The second pic, street pic looks gorgeous.
Can't wait to get this, loved the first two games but this one looks to be on another level!
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is just a launch title. 2-3 years from now? PhewWEEEE!
Lookin at this screenshot, i forgot that i need to buy inFamous collection. My local store had a sale right now and i saw inFamous collection with a good prize ^^
dont forget InFamous Blood Festival
Dayum do those environment screens look great. Second Son is one of the greatest looking next-gen games, and thinking that it's an open world launch title with graphics better than most of the games shown will almost boil my head. Future's looking bright for PS4.
supersampled bullhots. -__-
And you're sure how? There are lots of gameplay videos on YouTube to prove you otherwise.
You just don't get it, do you? You and a bunch of other people on this thread need to spend some time playing on a decent PC. THEN you'll have some clue of what we're talking about.
Unfortunately Steve you've got the wrong guy to play your "get a PC" card this time, as I DO have a good gaming rig myself. Don't worry, I know exactly what I'm talking about. What open world game looks better than that on PC? There's Sleeping Dogs and it looks good but not THAT good. Not only I understand the technology behind games but also I have perfect visual senses, so I insist on my comment above. The level of detail, shaders, polygonal details of the characters and the environment is superb for an open world game.
@Braid Bubble for you. Well said:)
Because the resolution of the shots is almost 6K? Sure they could be upscaled, but judging by the quality of the anti-aliasing, I'm pretty sure they aren't. Thus, they really are "supersampled bullshots". The textures and polygons are the same as they'll be in the game, but the game isn't going to run at 6K and there's going to be some jaggies. Let's be realistic about it.
because the screens are rendered at 4k and we all know that inFamous SS will run at 4k, right? Another thing is, there are no games without jaggies and when downsampled the jaggies are gone. When it comes to Sony stuff you guys become plain silly. =/ http://gematsu.com/gallery/... http://gematsu.com/gallery/...
Allright, but what does it have to do with all the other details EXCEPT the resolution? When you call something "bullshot", it means you don't believe the authenticity of what you see, which can apply to the resolution in this case but everything else in those screens are not altered, nor do they depend on the resolution. It'll run at 1080p, sure. But how about the gorgeous looking skin/clothing shaders, volumetric fog/smoke effects that react to light sources, or how about reactive soft shadows cast by every single object on the map (including leaves) and real-time reflections, along with tessleated assets and global illumination? Are those "bullsh#t" as well? The final game may or may not look jaggier than this, but everything else you see is real. How do I know? Because it's one of the FEW next-gen games from the bunch that they showed "actual" in-game footage: http://goo.gl/dnGYU
Love infamous, this game is looking sweet
gorgeous game. and fun if the previous ones were any indication.
Looks good can't wait to play it :)
When you have PC fanboys calling the screens bullshots when we've got technology that puts out graphics like this, you know the game is good looking. ZOMG TEH PS4 AnD Xb0NE can nevaaa match TeH p0wRzz of da Mighty PC!!! /s Bullshot my Ass, PC games with this specs don't need bullshots so consoles with PC like specs aren't going to be supesampled either.
This is the most gorgeous looking next-gen game so far and we've only seen a small, early slice. The detail, the animation, the art style - all fantastic. The game's not even out until early next year, so it can look even better. I don't know why PC-only gamers feel the threat so much. If you have a custom built PC with all the latest hardware standards, of course you can run your games with more detail, at a higher resolution and with more effects. It doesn't change the fact that the majority of PC gamers have nowhere near these specs. And it doesn't change how gorgeous this game looks.
Because it's a shock to them when they realize they've payed $700 extra for marginally improved graphics.
Looks good to me. :)
A taste of ps4 power.
ScubaSteve is getting a little annoyed and snippy. Second Son must be one helluva great looking game. You know it's looking superb when the PC elitist types start to show up and claim "waaa crap".
Waaaa waaaaa Lol.
Lighting and texture quality looks superb. But the foliage looks pretty terrible in this particular shot. http://gematsu.com/gallery/...
Its a open world console game, they will always have to cut corners somewhere. I'm just happy to see such a giant leap from Infamous 2. 3 sure is spoiling my graphical giddiness of 2. As I am trying to beat two at the moment.
Game is looking fantastic! I hope Cole makes an appearance.
I like Cole better. This kid look like a total punk.
i cant wait for this game.
I can't wait to play this game, but I wish there was still electricity powers instead... Idk why, it's just preference, but I like the look of the little 'electric bullets', if you will, that Cole could shoot whenever.
on inFamous 2 you could choose between electricity, ice or fire. This game might give other choice down the road too... Who knows.
