physics and graphics umph can not be done on cloud computing as there is too much lag.. cloud compute will be used for online matchmaking drivatar etc..shame can not use any of the fanatec or g27 wheels.

"the cloud, the cloud...this the cloud that"

im really hating "the clouds" now...i don't know about you, but i want a brighter day "son"
lol...

Lag and bandwidth are the things that limit cloud computing. Anything that needs to be updated constantly will not be on the cloud, that'll be what the console is for. Wait too long with lag and you'll see a car going halfway through a barrier.

That's why it's not going to be used for time sensitive computation, it can be used for lots of other things that are not dependent on tight timing's though.

you have to understand though that the cloud will handle non essential elements of the game ex: shadows, things like trees moving in the wind, water effects. They wouldn't make it so that things like AI or physics could potentially lag.

Drivatar concept is pretty cool.
porkChop  +   458d ago
There have been racing games that use this concept already but they didn't work too well. Hopefully it works better here though, it should.

They've been using drivatars in Forza since the first game back in 2005. It's funny that Turn 10 have people convinced it's a new and revolutionary feature though.

That combined with their cloud talk is actually kinda fascinating, since you wouldn't think people were dumb enough to succumb to their efforts at hyping them, but here we are :)

Am i the only one who can no longer read the word *could* without misinterpreting it for the word *cloud* When reading anything that has to do with the xbox one?

But anyway, cant wait till gamescom. I hope Microsoft kill it. I'm really hoping they bring some of the "behind closed doors" demonstrations they did at E3, public at gamescom to silence the haters.
