The Free-To-Play Challenge: Free Is The New Hardest Difficulty

Game Informer: "Candy Crush Saga is a good game. Its monetization elements are pricier than they should be, but that’s not the reason I don’t want to spend money on it. This might surprise game makers, but I don’t mind spending money on video games. I don’t feel like spending money on Candy Crush Saga is a rip off, nor do I feel as though I am being taken advantage of whenever it offers me the opportunity to buy something. I don’t want to spend money on Candy Crush Saga, because I see that as its challenge." (Candy Crush Saga, Mobile)

If you spend money on Candy Crush, you'll pretty much have thrown it in the garbage five minutes later, when that lifes succumb against the unfair design.

Yes, the game can be beaten, but it is way better with infinite lives cheat, which makes it a really great and smart puzzle game.

The fact is Candy Cush Saga is appealing for certain people it will not appeal to hard core gamers. So paying $1.99 or even $5 isn't much. How many times can you buy candy crush saga for the price of Battlefield 4 ?

But as the writer points out what is the point. The point is you have moms with credit cards that want to beat their friends. You have kids with PayPal limits what want the fancy items. That is why people spend money on the games to show off and BS themselves into they were stuck and needed an extra life.
