Call Of Duty Ghosts is linear with Easter Egg sub missions (sort of) explained by Mark Rubin

OPM: Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin has explained Call Of Duty: Ghosts’ take on the branching paths introduced in Treyarch’s Black Ops 2. That system previously let you make defined gameplay choices at specific points. Rubin says Ghosts won’t use the same system and instead promises something ‘Easter egg-ish”. (Call of Duty: Ghosts, Mark Rubin, Next-Gen, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

So, basically it has like Intel documents scattered around the levels, but basically they are linear? Just say it, don't dance around it.

Seems like BF4 might be the ticket. I'm sure this will appeal to the CoD fans that choose to move on to the X1 or PS4.

Different strokes for different folks.

In spite of taking the time to comment here....Why don't I care about this game???

....Ghosts feels extremely long in the tooth.

This is not bad IMO. Actually, I prefer linear games. Non-linear gameplay in a linear story is something else. If it has different endings, even better.

MGS4, Last of Us, Heavy Rain, Bioshock...

May I recommend 'Pacman'?

...if you prefer linear, this game will (A)MAZE you :/

I recommend space invaders. It has all the things cod is missing.
HIT DETECTION!
Don't want to talk about the elephant in the room!
Why doesn't there games have hit detection.
Cod is a snake oil salesman!

Fix hit detection and you get a fun product that works!
Don't worry BF... They are way to greedy to fork out for Designated servers!

Why is it when Treyarch introduce something great into the series IW dont improve on it. We had zombies, interactive MP maps, dive to prone, branching story missions, Strike Force missions.

The best thing IW could do would be to release a HD version of COD 4.

Ghosts has slide to prone and interactive maps. But i agree that there isnt much innovation at all for this franchise. The same engine just upgraded using the same old assets. The only thing new in cod every year is new guns or new gun models.

honestly treyarch might bring some stuff into the game but they fuck up on the little things, like the 7 ways to enter one room or the having to be moving to be off radar, the fact that the wild cards take up a slot in the create a class dispite it being a wild card and really shouldn't, they split up cold blood from mw2 into 3 different perks in 2 tiers wtf? Its things like this is why i dont buy COD and just play it through game share if the opportunity arises

Zombies are for kids!
HD will just generate more lag!
Campaign is crap.

I'm really just wondering what everyone's big hype about BF4 is? Can someone explain? I understand and agree that COD is getting old and needs to make some major changes, but is BF4 doing anything "groundbreaking"? What changes are coming for next gen? Please don't say better graphics and 64 person battles cause I play on pc and those are standard (as is 60fps). I really am just wondering.......
