Saints Row 4: From Dildo Bats To Anal Probes

Saints Row has always marketed itself as the imaginative, zany little brother of the more serious and realistic Grand Theft Auto series. It’s hard to find many weapons more dirty, childish, funny and awesome then a massive dildo bat but has Saints Row 4 pushed too things too far? (Culture, Dev, EA, Industry, PS3, Saints Row 4, Xbox 360)

I've always liked SR over GTA for the wackiness alone :)

As far as I'm concerned I've always liked GTA over SR, since it offers a more sophisticated kind of eccentricity, that is way easier to enjoy without feeling totally embarassed. Personal opinion.

I like both but I think the humor in GTA is much smarter. Saints row is juvenile.

Saints Row 1 and 2 were really good in my opinion, but it totally went downhill with 3, and the trend looks to continue with 4. I like over-the-top type of gameplay, but it seemed like SR3 was designed by a bunch of middle schoolers who think cocks and dildos are the funniest thing on the planet. The humor just felt too cheap

Fair enough. The co-op element in the second one was fantastic and really made the experience worthwhile for me.

I love me some Saint's Row, but to be perfectly honest, GTA 5 is going to mop the floor with the new Saint's game.

Absurdity alone does not make a good game. Saint's needs to tone it down a little, I think they went too far with the wacky stuff.

For instance, the first level of Saint's Row: The Third. It had you falling through the sky with the cargo of the plane. Where the hell did all that cargo come from? There is no way there could have possibly been that much crap inside of one plane.

There was nothing wrong with falling through the air and shooting some guys on the way down, or going back through the plane, just the idiotic decision to have so much crap flying through air kind of ruined that.

There are countless other examples of that kind of stuff, but I don't want to type too much.

I will pick up Saint's 4 later on down the road as I do enjoy the games, but GTA 5 is day one no question.

I tend to agree with frag there.

I think the new SR game is going to be fun and a lotta laughs but that new GTA game... That's gonna be tough for anything to beat.

Wenis speaks the truth. If I'm not mistaken most of the people who worked on 1 and 2 didn't work on 3, and it shows.

Just terrible.

Just kinda mad that they ditched the Metal radio station.

Ugh, that means I won't be listening to in game music at all..... :/

Sad, if there's one thing GTA excels at over SR it's the music.

I'm still not sure if I wanna get this I enjoyed Saints Row The Third but at the same time I kind of didn't.

The 2nd one has been the best SR so far.

Got SR3 free with Plus. Only played it for 2 hours and have no reason to go back to it.

Wish more games had as customization as deep as theirs tho

I got it free too but ill put about 20 hours into it.. Its fun and actually more fun than gta4 but as a series gta is still tops ... Your right tho gta should add more customization

Yeah it's one of those games that you need to play co-op or it doesn't stand strong
