Gi - The Elder Scrolls Online Overview

Gi - Imagine all the great aspects of the Elder Scrolls games, but this time playing with friends. The Elder Scrolls Online is an online multiplayer role-playing game that will bring together fans of the Elder Scrolls franchise and experts of MMOs. Not only will the game be released on PC and Mac, but it will also be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Since previous games in the Elder Scrolls franchise — which include Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind — were already successful on a console, making The Elder Scrolls Online available for PC will not be a huge transition for Bethesda. In fact, releasing on multiple platforms is smart because it will give more gamers the opportunity to play. Many Elder Scrolls fans have been anxiously waiting for this game and there’s so much to look forward to in this new chapter of the Elder Scrolls history.

Gameplay and combat is NOT the same as Morrowind, Oblivion, or Skyrim so prepared to be disappointed.

The part that caught my attention was this:

"There will be no separate servers so it will be easy to find and play with friends."

Sounds like no dedicated servers for an MMO? ...

It has to have dedicated servers man.I've never heard of a MMO on P2P networking lol.

I expect it will be like DCUO for example, all seperate zones for players will be on one mega server.

Basically, multiple zones of every area instead of a seperate server for each one.You just have to click your friends name, click "phase to" and you can join his world.

Don't know if that makes sense, but, i'm tired, and it's pretty complicated.

No guys, it means that it all on one server, like Eve

ATi_Elite3936d ago

TESO has DEDICATED SERVERS but it may be a ONE WORLD SERVER like EVE ONline where everyone plays on ONE huge Server network in the same game world at the same time which is WAY COOL.

Unlike World of Warcraft which has a East Realm, West Realm, North Realm, blah blah blah and you gotta track your friends on different realms.

The combat in all of those games was awful, so that's not necessarily a bad thing.

In general the actual gaming experience was great in Morrowind, and crap in Oblivion and Skyrim, so the quality of the gameplay is also yet to be seen.

>making The Elder Scrolls Online available for PC will not be a huge transition for Bethesda

...What 'transition'? TES games were always on PC, there's no transition to be made. Also, Bethesda isn't making it, that's ZeniMax. "The Elder Scrolls Online is an upcoming massively multiplayer role-playing video game developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, to be released in Spring 2014." http://www.gameinformer.com...
