Matter Of Perspective: The World Of Metro

Dystopian fiction is all about the crushing of the human spirit, regardless of whether it occurs in a fully functioning society or at the end of the world. In Metro this dystopia plays out after a man made apocalypse leaves the surface world uninhabitable for humans. (Culture, Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

[Spoilers]

"Artyom and the Rangers make the final decision to destroy D6 with themselves still trapped inside. The base is destroyed and the majority of the warring factions are destroyed."

I wonder if the author just ignored the other ending for the sake of this write-up or doesn't know it exists. The "good" ending, the one I preferred, plays much more into a theme based around forgiveness. Anyways, a great game in my opinion, with a really interesting story. I enjoyed the little Dark One's occasional commentary as you traveled with him on the surface. That, along with many other story and gameplay details, really help immerse you in Metro's dark world.
