Cerny: "Knack is a small title"

PS4's Lead Architect and Knack's Game Director Mark Cerny commented on its upcoming game, saying that it is a "small title". (Knack, Mark Cerny, PS4)

"Knack is a small title" that can grow very large from consuming plenty of materials.
ApolloTheBoss  +   720d ago
Well said. And not to mention the game itself can get larger from the average consumer. The more consumers, the bigger it gets.

He made a joke. He wasn't being literal *facepalm*

@Koyes I know that. I was just making a point. So sorry for being a buzzkill.

Does anyone know if this game is only single player? Would love for it to have fun little multiplayer
plaZeHD  +   720d ago
I see what you did there.
HammadTheBeast  +   720d ago
At the moment, I'm not too concerned with Knack as a launch title. We haven't even seen any of the games from the main Sony players including Sony Santa Monica, Naughty Dog Team #1, and Media Molecule.
Alexious  +   720d ago
Well, these won't be at launch, though I still hope we hear about them at Gamescom.

I saw some sort of Move sculpting/puppet performance thing from MM the other day.
F4sterTh4nFTL  +   720d ago
We already knew this.

Out of the PS4 exclusives at launch I would consider only Killzone Shadow Fall a Big Title. Drive Club wants to be a Big Title like Gran Turismo or Forza but as it appears from recent previews that it might end up being a Medium Title.
Eyeco  +   720d ago
Really from the looks of it Drive Club looks to be the most popular title, it's something that will appeal to everyone, it's not to casual for hardcore racing heads but not to hardcore for the causals ,it makes full use of the PS4's new online functions and share features, I can see it being the most popular launch title on the PS4.

Killzone looks ok but let's be realistic there's enough shooters on the market now, it doesn't look like it's doing anything different in an overcrowded genre, that and it's going against the like's of Battlefield 4 and COD Ghosts,

Drive Club and Knack are like a breath of fresh air, I see them having far more longevity than Killzone.

Killzone looks to be very different. It has more open environments and the owl looks like a cool new gameplay element. The zipline is another gadget that changes the gameplay.
Koyes  +   720d ago
Agreed. Killzone looks to be the same old with a few things added in order to make it seem fresh, as displayed by the above commenter, who feels the zipline and 'the Owl' makes it totally different to previous titles x'D

Killzone Shadowfall doesn't look like the most original title ever but let's be fair, it's still a LOT more original than Battlefield 4 or COD Ghosts. I would agree that the market is overcrowded with current gen FPS games which is why it would be insane not to release a FPS on next generation consoles too. I'm sure next gen consoles will quickly become overcrowded with generic FPS too but at the moment there are...what?...three? For the proven most popular genre in gaming that's not bad. I think we should wait until there are at least five releasing for the console before we complain about there being too many of them.

Will be a small title, but I think hiding something innovative.

same they showed below average gameplay so far they are hiding something once those 10 10 reviews come in everyone will be shocked.
GameCents  +   720d ago
What's that? Genuine question.
xdye017  +   720d ago
The PS4 doesnt have a very strong first-party launch line-up right now but that's always the case with a console launch. I'm sure a year from now will start to get bigger and better first-party games.
Bluepowerzz  +   720d ago
your an uninformed miscreant microsoft knows how to play with your mind sony has 20 for launch only announced 8 ms has 15 only for launch and they announced 14 and many are multiplats timed ect but you uninfomed kids are the only thing keeping the xbox one competitive.

14? Wanna them with everyone? I must have watched a different E3.
Also, they said 15 internal exclusives. So Titanfall doesn't qualify.
Also, job well done for insulting and jumping down this guy's throat for not being impressed by the LAUNCH titles and not necessarily the first 20 exclusives of the year. Well done.

so thats cool for PS4, but when the Wii-U didn't have a strong launch list, it was doomed.
Sketchy_Galore  +   720d ago
Well, the PS4 is at least technically impressive which allows us to imagine brilliant things to come. The big wow about the WiiU seemed to be that some ports of older games from other consoles look just as good as the original versions and you could check your inventory on your gamepad. Even if the launch games of the PS4 don't wow us personally we can still look at them and think,'man, imagine what -insert game developers here- will do with this tech'. Can you honestly say your imagination was as stoked by imagining what could be done with the WiiU?
thezeldadoth  +   720d ago
i love how you simplify the wii u into a device to look at your inventory.
"some" ports of "older" games look "just as good" you are trying so hard. go troll somewhere else

its exciting to see the innovative games that will come out on it. i've been gaming on PC for a few years, i've already played graphics ahead of the ps4, thats not the most exciting thing about a new system.

As expected of a downloadable title Mark. I'm not expecting much from it but then again I didn't expect much from Limbo and it remains one of my favourite games of the outgoing generation.

I shall remain cautiously optimistic.
DigitalRaptor  +   720d ago
What makes you think this is a downloadable title?

GameCents  +   720d ago
Yikes!! It just seemed so plain and $20ish tops. My bad
krontaar  +   720d ago
Well then it shouldnt be full price. It totally looks like a $30 game.
WickedLester  +   720d ago
I have this one pre ordered but I may just cancel. I have a feeling this will be a PS Plus "freebie" down the road.
jagstatboy  +   719d ago
Then why is it $60?
