Elder Scrolls Online just as important as Skyrim - Bethesda

"There is no way that we would half-way it for something that important," says Bethesda marketing man. (PC, Pete Hines, PS3, The Elder Scrolls Online, Xbox 360)

This game will be awesome. I can't wait to play the Beta on PS4. Going to be really something special. On PS4 first.

yayyyy times exclusive! Its not like the Sony Attack Force spends hours of their time reaming out the XB1 for that very same reason.

Not that anyone cares except you guys.

Sure, because the quantity of Sony timed exclusives are so comparable to the quantity of MS timed exclusives... /s

You know why people ream on MS for all their timed exclusives? It's because, for the last few years (Not including the Xbox One), they've coupled them with so few new IPs.

"Elder Scrolls Online just as terrible as Skyrim, don't waste your time or money" - Bethesda

FIXED!!

My beef with Skyrim was that it felt like a single player MMO. I like Single player games, but Skyrim felt unfocused and too fragmented, allowing you to stack up a bunch of missions that seemed useless and dissoriented, unconnected to each other mission. Now that it's allowing other players into the same world, it should be interesting, since we can at least help each other get through all the missions together. The only issue is if it's laden with bugs again, like Skyrim was.

You are so wrong.

"Elder Scrolls Online just as terrible as Skyrim..."

So it will have very little 'terrible' and a whole lot of 'epic' as evident by the numerous awards Skyrim has won?

Can't wait :)

The developers got developer of the year after releasing a BETA, Skyrim was far from finished.. CoD4 got best graphics when MoH Airborne had much better graphics, games came out 2 weeks apart.. So much for your awards proving anything casual.

My beef with Skyrim it was a rushed piece of crap in which the sidequests were better then the main story, it suffered a huge lack of depth compared to previous TES games & the worst was the terrible melee combat/hit detection which was a lot better in Oblivion.

Plus I personally dislike the fact "dragons" & "giants" are so small in the game, maybe one day Bethesda will step it up but I doubt it because it's Bethesda.

I just don't think it'll be as enjoyable as its single-player predecessors. I love owning my own world to do with as I pleased in Skyrim, and TESO is going to do away with that so I'll just be some cog in the machine, rather than the all-important Dragonborn.
I suppose it'll be great for fans of MMO's, but it's not going to attract the single-player-only gamers like myself who value immersion and customisability (through mods, which are going to be incredibly restricted in TESO).

I just don't see how I'm going to feel the same level of immersion when I wander around seeing throngs of people with multicoloured names over their heads jumping around like idiots, teabagging people and moving erratically where internet connections are jittery.
It'll be trying quite a few things new, which I respect, but it's going to be limited by its being an MMO, where unless players spend hours and hours in-game, they're always going to be inferior to those who do. Also, achieving the same level of importance as the dragonborn will be nigh-on impossible, and only for the 1% who spend absurd hours trying to get there.

I think I'll wait for the next single player Elder Scrolls myself, where I can become the most renowned individual in the game world without throwing my real life away and which I can customise to my heart's content with mods.

I'd like to see this become moderately successful so Bethesda stay afloat, but never to WoW heights, as that, I'm sure, will kill off the single player franchise (I've been waiting for Warcraft 4 for the last decade).

Huh, I never thought about it that way.

exactly!!

I love single player games the most!!

and only play COD or BF for multiplayer, not feeling sharing my "world" with people

So is this game like Skyrim?
Like I can play it fully alone?

or will I have to play with random online people?
