Yeahhh screw that, I'm buying this puppy digital.
Why? All you have to do is install the first disc and play off of the second disc. No disc swapping during play. With digital, the price is bound to be higher, it won't be release digitally on day of release. You have to wait for it to download, so if you have a mediocre connection, it will take longer than installing it and then playing it.
actually that is disc swapping because you swapped out one disk to play off the other and then when you put another game in and put gta 5 back in the case many will put the wrong disk in and waste lot of time switching back lol.
Because I'm a champion? Nah, because if I'm going to be doing a massive install, I might as well just install the whole thing on my HD, that way I can play it from my catalog without reaching for my game case. Been playing Hitman off the HD since I picked it up on XBL, and its just that much more convenient. I'm pretty sure it will be on the store day 1. I don't see any reason to think that it wont? My DL speeds are good, it might take an hour. I think I can manage to wait. anyways DOESN'T MATTER WHY cause that's whats gon' happen playa. I have basically converted to digital, and don't plan on making physical purchases unless there is some serious incentive.
So, most of you seem to "disagree" that I'm buying this game digital. I guess that makes most of you... wrong! :p
Same here... But my issue is to wait for x1 version or get this one. When games look this good on current gen selling next gen systems will become less appealing.
all about the PC baby.
That makes sense when talking about a game that for now is exclusive to consoles. /s
there is no way GTA isnt going to come out on the PC. -_-
Of course not, but probably not before around summer 2014. I couldn't wait for that just because of the subject of the article.
Isn't that was PC players have kept saying all these years about RDR? I wouldn't hold my breath.
lol, lets not talk about that.
looking at all the GTA games came like 1 year on PC after the consoles release, i'd say there is a big hope for a PC release around summer 2014.
yeah I really want the PC version too... but ain't no way I'm waiting a year for it or even 6 months. Why R* has to do that is beyond me. I'm getting it for PS3. PC later.
How ironic, someone on this website asked me how Blu-ray affected gaming claiming i'm delusional. Well i was wrong about one thing, multiplatform games will see a difference if it's an ambusious sandbox video game.
Nothing new here. R* already confirmed install size for X360 and two disc (one fori install second to play) for Microsot's platfom instead one for PS3. Duplicate sotery: http://n4g.com/news/1295142... Q: Rockstar, how many discs will the Xbox and PS3 versions of the game have? I am asking because I am just conscious of how many discs I will have to install onto my Xbox 360 HDD? A: Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game we have yet created, and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles. In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 systems. For Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs; Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game. After the install, players will be able to enjoy both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online without any need to switch discs. This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance. For PlayStation®3, the game ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete. Thank you.
That's what I thought at first and that's why I checked the article on the R* newswire again ( http://www.rockstargames.co... ), but that article does NOT say that you will have the option to install BOTH discs. I guess it was kind of obvious that you could and how it would work, but at least we do know for sure now (and with 'we' I mean all the other guys who won't get it for PS3).
So 15 gig of gaming goodness can be installed on the HD. Great, should help with the load time, less wear N tear on disc drive, and no disc swapping. Awaiting patiently for the release in Sept.
ps3 version it is
bingo that blueray disk and blueray player with free online that's what I call value and actually using my Hd tv to its fullest.
Not to mention you'll be playing it with a DS controller like we did with GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA4 etc
And screw anyone who only has a 4gb Xbox 360.
Stop being paranoid (no pun intended), 4gb x360 owners can simply use a 16gb flash drive inside their drawer or simple buy one for $10. Problem solve. Easy as pie.
wow so gta 5 will be 75-80 dollars for xbox 360 owners 10+ dollars with tax usb drive and then tax on the game itself. you guys really need to learn to support the playstation and stuff like this wont happen to you. you can make the right choice next gen with the ps4
LMFAO "wow so gta 5 will be 75-80 dollars for xbox 360 owners 10+ dollars with tax usb drive and then tax on the game itself." Sony fanboys LOVE to tax on prices to make it look worse when it comes to MS. Suddenly now every game that comes with an install requires a new USB drive for 4gb 360 consoles. I swear sony fanboys just get more stupid as each day progresses.
Annoying for those who have one of these, but at least they kind of have an option to play the game if they don't own a PS3: "This initial install will require [...] an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance." That might not be the best way to do it, but it's probably the only way for those people, especially because USB flash drives are relatively cheap.
There you go: http://www.newegg.com/Produ... At 10$, it's still much cheaper than buying either PS3 or Xbox 360 with HDD.
This is rumor?
R* already said that the 1 disc is for install, the second is for play.
It only makes sense that the play disc can also be installed to eliminate disc-spinning.
This is basic Xbox 360 install process.
This is no different than any other xbox 360 game with a mandatory install disk (like Halo 4 or Forza Motorsport)
