Welcome back to the three-part breakdown of the biggest issues which this year’s biggest game’s have in common; those games being The Last Of Us, Tomb Raider, and Bioshock Infinite.
You mean, "three problems IN MY OPINION" that plague The Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider".
Writer here; though I didn't post this. This is a work of opinion. All writing is a work of opinion, by definition. I don't need to say "in my opinion."
Pacing plagues all stories. From novels, comics, TV shows to feature films. Sensationalist article picking on some pretty good games. There are many bad games this piece could have picked on more effectively.
Writer here. The very occasional work of art gets it nearly 100% right. Hence the classically renowned status of films like The Godfather, or 2001: A Space Odyssey. Even a couple of games have got it about perfect. I'm talking about how the three big action releases of this year specifically got it wrong. I could have talked about other games- but as I say in the intro to part 1, these are games which are consistently near the top of "best games of 2013" lists. Indeed, The Last Of Us is the most nitpicky/ arbitrary of the selection. But Bioshock and Tomb Raider are fundamentally compromised by bad pacing. I think, obviously. Hence why I wrote the article. EDIT: I also don't appreciate being called sensationalist. Notice that I actually wrote a lot? More than 1,500 words? And that I'm discussing it with you? And that I actually try to justify what I'm saying in the article?
Meh the Pacing on The last of Us and Bioshock Infinite was pretty good IMO, i never played Tomb Raider so can't say about that one, but I never played a game that has perfect pacing or seen a movie with it either.
