Old MMORPGs Can Still Hook Players

GameDynamo - "With so many satisfying older games on the market, I really haven't been able to talk myself into the investment. I have been distracted by excellent games which are free-to-play and don't really tax my somewhat antiquated system." (Dark Age of Camelot, Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach , Neverwinter Nights, PC, World of Warcraft)

I still pay for UO since day one. For me, no MMO has yet to give me a similar feeling of importance. Dark Age of Camelot was close, though.

It's all about endgame, something every MMO in the last decade seems to have forgotten. I could care less about loot. Give me real open world pvp that has impact and lasting effects any day.

F2P MMORPGs have only exacerbated the problem of shoddy endgame content in MMOs. They can flaunt smoke and mirrors all they want, but the vast majority are good for maybe a week of play at best.
