Throwback Tuesday: A Look Back at Final Fantasy IX

This week's Throwback Tuesday looks back at the last PlayStation1 entry for the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy IX.

This is the only main numbered Final Fantasy I have not played.

6 is my fav, but followed CLOSELY by 9. 7 & 8 deviated a lot from what 6 was, and 9 went back to what made classic FF's so great.

chocobo breeding and racing on 7 chocographs and hot&cold on 9 sadly they dont do this stuff anymore fun mini games that will later reward you the ability to fly with a chocobo

It's the only one I have not beaten. I don't know why at the time I got about half way and it just had not grabbed me so I moved on to something else. I kinda wonder if I go back now and try it if I will like it alot more seeing as my taste in story and games has changed so much since it game out.

=] One of the best. 6, 9, 4, 8, 13-2 are my current top 5 but we'll see how 15 can break that cycle.

Anyone who hasn't played this or Final Fantasy in general should check this game out. The devs have stated this was their favorite Final Fantasy and the original vision for Final Fantasy before they took risks with steampunk stuff.

final fantasy ix had the most heart, a good comical story that didn't take itself too seriously, varied characters with personality you couldn't not like, awesome music and stuck to its roots

This game has the best cast in my opinion, Steiner's like the over protective Dad to Dagger, Vivi's the shy but strong one, Zidane's basically like Luffy and so on, this game definitely had the most heart and care in to it out of the modern Final Fantasy.
