I could continue but chances are you’ve played or at least heard of one of the titles listed – and probably not for the reasons the developers hoped. Movies and video games have always had something of a strange relationship – games that aspire to cinematic greatness like Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear series and movies that pander to gamers like Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph are both becoming increasingly common. Straight-up adaptations are also rife throughout both mediums. It seems like such a perfect match, like bread and butter – why, then, does it often seem more like pizza and ice cream?
