Like, an exponential improvement over the lame Euro-vids from a few months ago. The animation of the Cell BE fading into the video of the freeway is about the easiest explanation I've seen for that CPU.

They basically took the concepts of the old vids, tightened up the execution, and most importantly made them fun to watch.

Actually wasn't bad... pretty neat, and funny. Someone has to flame the hell outa this though eventually.

How about showing games, online functions in detail, perifs, and killzone PS3. Cool vids, and great PR hype.

Why was HD-DVD shown as 30 gigs with 30 flowers, but BR @ 50 gigs with like 1 million flowers. It should have been 50 flowers. Like I thought some ppl can't add for themselves. Maybe the PS3 will have a calculater function also. NO ONE CAN OUT HYPE SONY.

The message of the video is to show that Sony is thinking about the future and allowing for far greater amount of space for developers to take advantage of to create worlds never seen or experienced before. That's not over hype, that's the truth, especially compared to what is available on other next gen consoles that only offer the status quo from last gen consoles in this regard.

You can argue that developers will never need the extra space but at least Sony has given developers the option on the PS3 where MS gave none. I would also point out that MS said that the PS3 would have no 1080p games.

Xbox's Director of the Game Technology Group, Scott Henson, had his doubts about Sony's claim that PS3 games will feature 'full HD' (1080p resolution): "I think 1080p, just to address that directly, will be basically impossible. I think if you talk to any developer they will tell you that they will not have a performing game at 1080p."

http://www.joystiq.com/2006...

I think he stated this for 2 reason. One they doubted that the hardware was capable of it and second that developers would want to take advantage of this capability even if it was. It appears to me that MS was wrong and is now scambling to say they can do 1080p as well but then explain it means a worse picture. LOL

So if MS was wrong about developers taking advantage of the PS3 capabilities to develope games in 1080p and the system has not even lauched yet are you so sure that developers will not take advantage of the extra storage capacity of Blu-Ray on the PS3 to deliver a gaming experience that is impossible on consoles only using DVD drives? Also don't give me this crap about using multiple DVD's to do the same thing when you XBox 360 fans complain about load times on a single disc. If you think those are bad then changing disk will kill you especially on open world games.

I know RFOM is using 16GB. While graphicly one can say there is no advantage but no one has played the entire game yet. How much gameplay will there be on this title? How much better can the story line be using the additional space? Even if RFOM does not offer anything more what about future games in one to 2 or 3 years time? Sony has given a platform to developers that is better then the old one in every area. Its now up to developers to find ways to harness all of this into new games creating new experiences for us gamers, something all gamers should encourage regardless of the platform they happen to support.

Okay I said nothing about M$. I don't recall this in my post.

I just said Sony can only talk about what they have been talking about since e3 05. I want more info. I get the fact that BR is 1 million times bigger than anything on earth. I get the fact that the cell is the most powerfull CPU on the face of the earth. I get the fact that the RSX is 100 times more powerful than any GPU. WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE GAMING EXPERIENCE ASIDE FROM GRAPHICS AND HYPE.

1. Will every game have custome sound tracks.
2. Will there be cross game chatting
3. Can I stream music from a device while playing a game, while having other sound in that game.
4. Can I send game invite to friends playing other games.
5. can I message my friends from a PC.
The list goes on and on. I have a mind of my own. I just want Sony to answer my questions. Now since you guys are Playstation employees maybe you can answer them for me. I bet DJ will come up with the answers.

Yes you never said anything aboout MS. As I was wrtting my response I was trying to head off arguments from the 360 fans.

Those are good questions and sorry I can't answer them. However looking for answers on a website set to promote the general capabilites and selling points of the PS3 is not really realistic.

You say you want to know about the gaming experience aside from graphics and hype. I suggest you read game reviews of completed games as well as wait until you can try the PS3 for yourself in a store or friends place. Then you can know for sure.

As far as your specific questions I would look to gaming sites like IGN etc, who now have a finished version of the system and soon will be doing reviews of complete games instead of just the demo's. As well I am sure they will let us know more about the online gaming experience, more about using the PS3 as a computer with Yellow Dog as the OS and how that all works etc.
