Top 5 Marmite Games of This Generation

Some would have you believe that the days of the SNES and Mega Drive were superior, but honestly, in terms of choice and above all, quality, this generation is pretty hard to beat. There has of course been a ton of shovelware (thanks largely to the Wii), but with so many AAA titles on the shelves, this really shouldn’t bother the majority of gamers. (Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, Lost Odyssey, Lost Planet 2, Nights: Journey of Dreams, Prince Of Persia, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)

I absolutly love pop2008,one of my favorite games of all time,it really does deserve a sequel, but no what we pop fans get instead is forgotten sands which was a glitchy, soulless mess, and a FRIGGIN mobile game.

It's always confused me that it got so much hate. Sure it's easy, but it's friggin beautiful, the soundtrack is one of the best of the generation, and the story really ramped up towards the end there.

It did piss me off royally that they released a "prologue" that was obviously just thrown together to cash-in on the DLC craze, though. Kind of ruined the ending, really.

I'd still love a sequel, though.

Well alot of people never gave the game a fair chance they either played 5 minutes and quit before the game got good or they said oh I hate cel shaded graphics cause there for kids so the game automatically sucks,it really is a stupid reason not to give a game a fair chance, even I thought I wouldnt like 2008 but I gave it a fair chance, brought tge game in the 1st week even, and now its one of my all time favorite games ever.

Heh, don't know if anyone cares, but I meant to say "epilogue."

How can Lost Odyssey be a marmite game, it's fantastic.

It's basically the true FF13 game this gen

I would give the "true FF13" award to Resonance of Fate, based on its combat actually being how we assumed FF13's combat would be.

It was a good generation.

My only let down this gen were the sports genre. Too many exclusive contracts limiting competition which in turn stifled any kind of advancement.
ShaunCameron  +   606d ago
Meh. Blame the sports leagues that gave out the exclusive contracts. Not EA or 2K.

Kane and Lynch 2 was absolutely superb for me. I loved how the "plot" was essentially pointless, but in a good way. It was just a slice of life for these two characters. And the ending was plain brilliant.

I'm sorry. What? Marmite?

It's something that people either like or hate. I personally love it, and have it on toast quite regularly.

Yes.

Haha. That's awesome. Is it a British thing?

EDIT: Did some looking. Seems like a British thing. Miracle Whip did something with that more recently.

Yeah, I think it's very much a British thing. I went to America recently, and while I loved the food over there I was pining for a taste my beloved Marmite. The joy when I found a jar in Walmart is something I can't describe.

I had a slice of marmite on toast that night while I was relaxing on my hotel room balcony. It was bliss lol.
