Aquaria Review: Samus Meets Ariel: Hardcore Droid

Back in 2007, Aquaria was a flagship title for the nascent indie boom. It was the commercial debut of Derek Yu, who had previously worked on the freeware hit Eternal Daughter, which helped it generate buzz without the need for a marketing budget. It was everything big-budget games were not at the time; subtle, atmospheric, and old-school without being nostalgic. Now, six years later, it’s made its way to our Android phones in the latest Humble Bundle, and it’s a perfect excuse to relive the adventure once again
