Absolutely agree. My biggest fear for GTA V is that they will simplify the driving to a more arcade style, which would really ruin a lot of the game for me. Driving was so dynamic and engaging in GTA IV. That's why I keep going back to that 5 year old game. I can't stand the driving mechanics in other open world games like Saints Row or *shudder*... Sleeping Dogs. It feels like going back to the PS2 era. Rockstar, please don't disappoint me!

I absolutely agree. The other games you stated have no dynamism to the driving physics, GTA, however, does, and I hope they dot backtrack due to the children complaining about it being "too realistic". IV's driving was perfect. I killed 200 pigeons to express my love towards the game an I hope they don't make it too arcadey. That for me would ruin the game.

I killed those 200 pigeons too :P was tough. The last one drove me crazy I couldnt find the guide I was using and used another one and got mixed up. Took me souble the time. Ironically the last one was near an exit sign. I Molotoved it out of anger XD

gedapeleda3940d ago

I for one also hope they won't nerf it.
Mafia series and gta4 driving realism adds a lot of fun.
R* said it will be more like a racing game, cars won't be as boat like. If you played IV on pc and had the native trainer, you could lower cars suspention, that gave a more racing game feel with less woble, so my wild guess is that's what car handle like in V.

I'm sure GTA 5 will be everything everyone wants

Rockstar listens to their fans. Unlike other developers.

While I agree being to arcadey is not a good thing but so is being too realistic. I wasn't to found of the driving mechanics in GTA IV it needed to be more arcadey but not SR arcadey, something in between would be great.

While sleeping dogs driving wasn't great the game as a whole is just amazing, speaks volumes about the game, but were speaking about GTA here everything needs to be perfect.

The only thing that I would have wanted them to change from GTAIV's physics for the cars would be the braking distance.

Cost of realistic looking movement.

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

MetalGearsofWar36d ago

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo36d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp36d ago (Edited 36d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg36d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos36d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
